American voters overwhelmingly support their country’s founding ideals – yet the majority also believe that the U.S. is failing to live up to them, according to new polling.
The Center Square’s Voters’ Voice Poll revealed that 86% of registered U.S. voters support America’s founding principles, among which the poll listed “individual rights such as life, liberty, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, the right to bear arms, equal treatment under the law, and government by the consent of the people.”
Only 31% of all voters, however, believed those principles are being practiced well, painting a gloomy picture of voters’ moods as the U.S. approaches its 250th anniversary.
The poll was conducted by Noble Predictive Insights from June 1-4, 2026, surveying 2,585 registered U.S. voters. The sample was comprised of 915 Republicans, 1013 Democrats, and 297 True Independents, the latter of whom chose neither major party when asked about their political leanings. The poll’s margin of error is +/- 1.93%.
“Voters are not rejecting the founding ideals, but many doubt the country’s political system is healthy enough to live up to them,” Mike Noble, founder and CEO of Noble Predictive Insights, told The Center Square. “All of them are pretty pessimistic on how well these founding principles are being practiced today.”

We need to proceed as if the system were completely broken, because it is.
Sadly, half of them have no idea of what those ideals actually are.
“Poll: Majority of Americans believe country not adhering to founding ideals”
Plot twist: Critical mass of “Americans” think that’s a good thing.
How many times have leftists denigrated the founders of this nation?
The question is loaded. Some folks can believe some “rights” are being held up well and other “rights” are not, leading to a general opinion in the mind of the person being polled where the negatives outweigh the positives, even if the positives were greater in number.
In this poll folks that believe the right to bear arms is not being respected well, will for that one reason vote in the negative, along with some “black” who believes “equal protection under the law” is the one negative view they have, while they may have positive views otherwise.
The only good poll on this topic would ask a question about each individual “right”.

Leftists & teachers, but that’s the same thing basically. I’m reading a book about our history, & a chapter on George Washington points out how certain “historians” have written that GW took his slaves teeth to create dentures, as he had terrible teeth. All without any proof. So many are responsible for the state of things today & the lies that are believed by too many.
The founding principle our founding fathers espoused to was liberty! All of the human rights derive from that foundational.
Decades ago I bought a book on the U.S. Presidents from Washington through George W. Bush. Each chapter gave a textbook mini-bio of each president, but throughout the book was a tangible air of contempt and disdain for Pres. Reagan who, somehow, related to the president chapter in question. The Forward was just a Reagan hate-fest.
I always see the Second Amendment as the crucial litmus test. The right “shall not be infringed”. And yet we have about a million infringements and not even the Supreme Court cares.
That just means that ALL of your rights are merely things the government is currently allowing you to have. They come. They go. You have no say. For now, you are allowed to do some stuff. That’s as much as you say. You have no genuine liberty.
For “Shall not be infringed” to be applied, you have to define what “the right to keep and bear arms” means.
The Supreme Court has take the logical position, as the right existed before the ratification of the Bill of Rights in 1791, the right to keep and bear arms means what people believed it meant when the Bill of Rights was ratified.
There were always limitations.
Americans never had a right to keep and bear arms in prison.
Americans never had a right to steal arms from someone else if you did not possess arms.
Americans never had the right to bear arms in courtrooms during trials.
The Supreme Court is defining what the right meant in 1791 through a series of decisions. They did a pretty good job with Bruen, and now they are enforcing Bruen on the inferior courts.
Due process takes time.

The First big infraction of the US Constitution by the DC criminals was the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 of which by the way was never legally ratified. It still has yet to be ratified but was extended for another 100 years in 2013.
It’s a good time to buy that FRT or super safety.
Not everyone knows about all the lies being told, but I believe a good number of conservatives are starting to learn about who many of the liars are.
