The Trump Mobile T1 Phone appears to be available for outright purchase for the first time, after the pre-order notice was removed from the company’s website. The $499 handset is essentially a repainted HTC U24 Pro from 2024, and it follows a long stretch of delays, an FTC inquiry, and reports that the device is only assembled, not built, in the US.
Ever since Trump Mobile announced the T1 phone last year, the handset has been on pre-order status. But if you were thinking about getting your hands on it, it looks like the Trump Mobile T1 Phone is now available outright.
According to the listing https://enroll.trumpmobile.com/device-detail/Ml8x on the Trump Mobile website, the T1 Phone is now available for purchase. It claims that it is enjoying a promotional price of $499. So, if you were thinking of cashing in on this deal, now’s the time to do so. However, you should be aware of what you’re buying.
While the exterior of the phone sports a gold paint job and has the Trump Mobile branding on its back, a recent iFixit teardown revealed that the phone is basically a repainted version of the HTC U24 Pro. For context, the HTC U24 Pro was released in 2024, so you’d be buying a phone released in 2026 that uses tech from 2 years ago for nearly $500.
At that price, honestly, there are a lot of better and more modern options. In fact, the recently announced Samsung Galaxy A27 5G could be a great choice. Not only is it cheaper, but smartphone tech has come a long way in those couple of years where you should be able to get a similar, if not better, experience. But hey, that’s entirely your choice.
For those wondering, the Trump Mobile T1 Phone’s availability is actually kind of a big deal. You see, ever since the company announced the phone, it took them way longer than anyone expected to get the phone to market. It got to the point where some were wondering if this phone was simply vaporware. Some lawmakers even pushed for the FTC to investigate.
Trump Mobile had also initially made bold claims that the phone would be built in the US. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Instead, the phone is only being assembled stateside. That being said, if we take politics out of the equation, it’s not the worst phone we’ve seen. Is it worth $499? Like we said, there are plenty of other options at that price point.

anyone got one of these?
It’s tempting, I’ll admit. But I don’t have $500, and I do’t really feel like learning a new phone. It’s gorgeous, though.
Smartphones should be black or slate gray. Any other colors are for liberal women, homosexuals and democrats. Conservative women should stick to black and gray as well. So should conservative gay people.
If we can’t even maintain basic standards on phones, how can we hope to hold the line on dress codes and standards of public behavior?
I will admit that Henry Ford was wrong about cars. We need different color cars to make ours stand out better in large parking lots.
China is celebrating. This seem to be a typical CCP phone with added drawbacks…
Why not an American phone?
Sad, this looks like China First policy.
No thank you. Just another shiny new object from Trump that will be discontinued in 6 months because nobody bought it. These look almost as cheap and garish as the Trump watches he hawks over on Newsmax.
Considering that July 4 is this weekend, what's wrong with putting the little foam orange 76 ball on your antenna?
Eesh.
I’m a super reserved person when it comes to schlock.
This is giving schlock.
I hope I’m wrong.
It better be the best damn cell phone ever marketed.
I wouldn’t object. Whatever you want to make you car stand out in the big parking lot. An antenna insignia is like a necktie for men in a suit; it’s all the personalization one should need.
Beau Brummel was right about that.
Perhaps people are holding out for a $4.99 stencil and paint kit for phones they already own.
“you’d be buying a phone released in 2026 that uses tech from 2 years ago.”
I’m comfortable with that. Every time my Android gets an “update”, it becomes worse.
A Trump phone built in China ... I dunno about that.
“Any other colors are for liberal women, homosexuals and democrats.”
I have very bad eyes, so purposely choose a bright color for a “wallet” cover so I can more easily find the thing. When I buy a device I don’t care what color it is ‘cause the cover I get will more visible.
“We need different color cars to make ours stand out better in large parking lots.”
Agree. Not for the parking lot thing, but to make life pretty and interesting again. Making everything and everyone the same is a commie ploy to help suck the joy out of life.
Cars still have antennae? I wish ...
The phone is assembled in America.
I wonder how long it’ll be until someone gets beaten up or murdered because they have one of these phones.
“The phone is assembled in America.”
Yes; that’s in the article, but the parts are from China.
