There's a Pattern: Iran is consistently inconsistent, contradicting the US at every turn

From the Iranian negotiations, a strong pattern has emerged: anything the U.S. says that they’ve agreed to, they deny. This has happened repeatedly, to the point where we have to ask ourselves why they reject our statements? Are our government officials misunderstanding them? Do Trump and Vance purposely misstate what has been agreed to? Or does Iran think that their defiance and disagreement give a picture of strength and victory for their side?

To demonstrate the frequency of these denials, let’s take them one at a time:

Vance confirmed yesterday in a press statement that the United States had agreed to release some Iranian funds, provided there is progress in negotiations between the two sides. He added that the move would benefit American farmers and noted that the funds would be used to purchase American agricultural products. U.S. President Donald Trump likewise emphasized that Tehran would use the released funds to buy American goods.

Both Mohammad Bagher Ghalibafa and Iranian Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmat denied this agreement, and said that the MOU does not require them to buy American products. Hemmati stated that funds only needed to be spent on basic goods and services, adding that Iran would only buy products from the U.S. if the Americans gave them a better deal than others.

A second incident occurred when Trump threatened the Iranians, and the representatives walked out of the meeting. Vance claimed that they did not leave the meeting, but they claimed that they did, since the MOU prohibited threats being issued from either side.

The third example is regarding Trump’s claim that the Iranians would allow visits by the International Atomic Energy Agency:

They are playing Trump. He needs to do something to get their attention. Maybe it’s time for their “4th tier” to get a promotion.

They have the same thing that afflicts demoncrats, Trump Derangement Syndrome. Not matter what Trump does or says, they will do the opposite.

My guess is that we are fully aware of their negotiating tactics and have a plan. If Biden were president I would have no such confidence.

So what’s new?
They play along because they know the dumprats and lapdog media will parrot whatever they say.
Islamists….democrats…. Zero difference.

This is not a simple “He said - She said”.
And Iran has a terrible reputation for keeping deals, while Trump is a businessman who does keep his word.
And there are witnesses to everything that is agreed to. The deal is understood by others.

At some point (after the mid-terms, hopefully) Iran will egregiously break its word. At that point, Trump can say to the world “Look, I tried” and he can then operate with a free hand.

My thinking is that if the UN, or the EU, or NATO gives Trump a hard time, he’ll just pull out of those old agreements, kick the UN out of the US and sell their building. Blow the whole post-WWII world order up all at once. OR the western world can support the US while we destroy Iran.

The only people who think Iran are being inconsistent, haven’t been following them online and listening to their own words throughout the conflict.

They have been incredibly consistent. Their demands have been the same throughout.

The only difference is that they originally demanded that U.S. forces withdraw from the whole middle east region and now they are only demanding that we leave from the gulf region.

Now, if you have only learned of what Iran has said through the Trump administration or through Fox news, then I can see how you might feel they are being inconsistent.

Yes, everyone knows it including Trump.

Iran is "holding all of the cards" right now.

Trump has strategically retreated from Iran to focus on keeping control of Congress.

Methinks you will see a mass migration of Iranian leadership to friendly countries the day after the midterms.

They know exactly what they are doing.

By doing this they know that the American leftists will respond with hatred towards their own. Hell, half the right does too.

With a simple sentence they can cause deeper wounds in the American fabric than any attack can.

Islam physically attacked the US in 2001. It made us stronger. It makes no sense to do that again. Now they’ll get the results they need from our own media.

If Iran were seeing conditions and concessions that are anything like what the media says they are getting then they would be RUSHING to the table to sign it.

JD Vance 2028. This week has been his moment. Like when Trump said during the debates when asked if he would quit if he didn’t get the nomination. He said “No. I am a winner”

Cemented his presidency on day one.

Let this bring us more together, not apart.

Well, maybe we can keep the war from kicking up until after the mid-terms, then Trump can say Iran is not following the MOU/agreement so war is back on...and then finish the job.

Iran is playing to the American media that it knows hates President Trump as much as they do.

By denying everything that Trump says, the American media can portray President Trump as losing, as failing at negotiations, as being bested by Iran, as negotiating a worse deal than Obama... All to drive down Trump's polling and make the Republicans afraid of losing the mid-term elections.

Iran is banking on the Republicans losing the majority, and that the incoming Democrats will stop Trump from pursuing Iran any further.

The fact is,

One cannot negotiate with terrorists.

The 1979 Iranian Constitution enshrined Islamist terrorism as the law of the land.

The only credible outcome is complete utter defeat with unconditional surrender by Iran, and the only modern analogue is the defeat of Imperial Japan in WW2.

Nothing the Iranians say can be trusted at the cease-fire table nor away from it.

Any agreement with this Iranian government is not worth the paper it is written on.

There are two tribes on an isolated island you have just landed on. The T tribe only tells the truth, the L tribe only lies. A native comes up to meet you as you get out of the plane. How do you tell what tribe this native belongs to ??

+1 The only thing countries like Iran respect is raw power and the willingness to use it. The purpose of war, after all, is force the other side to cease action against you and submit to your demands, not start drawing up MOU’S to make any concessions to the enemy.

We are tying to negotiate with people stuck in a 7th century mentality. IRAN will never negotiate in good faith and they see the MOU framework for further discussion as a sign of weakness. It’s just what they wanted to keep up their delaying tactics. There is no way that all the complex issues in the MOU can be translated into a deal within 60 days IMO. Extensions are inevitable, which again favors the Iranians.

In playing games with the Iranians we not sending a message of strength and resolve to the rest of the world. And they are watching closely.

The Iranian regime is fractured and in a new environment of weakness and uncertainty. Their conflicting statements and actions reflect that and are, to a degree, a tactical ploy that helps to provide them with guidance based on the reactions they generate.

The Iranians want to drag this out, as a shooting war with high oil prices causes Trump political problems. Trump has been losing support for this war in the U.S. Congress. Iran wants this to continue up to November to influence the midterms. It’s very transparent.
