How California Mandated Election Corruption
American Thinker ^ | June 24, 2026 | Jim Cardoza

The right to vote is among our most cherished liberties, but equally important is the public’s confidence that every lawful vote -- and only lawful votes -- determines the outcome. Election integrity is not simply about preventing fraud; it is about preserving trust. An election that half the country believes was unfairly manipulated is an election that erodes trust in the republic and confidence in the system, regardless of who wins.

Such elections have become standard practice in California -- not by accident, but by intent. The state has embraced a philosophy that treats virtually every security measure as an obstacle to the apparent goal of maintaining one-party control. Each voter integrity safeguard, once considered common sense, has been systematically dismantled. Practices critics have long warned create opportunities for abuse have not merely been tolerated -- they have been written into state law.

California has been a leader in removing obstacles. And many other BLUE states have followed CA’s lead.

After reading John Fund’s book on election fraud, I remember that Oregon was one of the first states to institute universal mail-in ballot voting. After that, no Republican ever won state-wide office.

Funny how that happens.

A great article that systematically dismantles the leftist policies which allow election fraud.

I'm sick of articles like this, which couch their language to avoid the obvious. Sic:

"California’s lawmakers hang their hats on the absence of widespread proven fraud. Yet this rationalization misses the larger principle." "Misses"? Really?? Oh please, AVOIDS by intent and Mr. Cardoza surely knows it. Oh but he seems so much more objective, detached, and 'nonpartisan' when he can couch it thusly.

Freaking pompous coward. AT is loaded with them.

I don’t like the soft-peddling language the author uses either.

Their plan is to destroy the trust in every system they can.
Which then makes the system freeze up.

America functions pretty well when High Trust is respected by all. Third World status when it doesn’t.

Classic examples? The un-attended roadside stand, or Halloween candy. Take some candy, leave the rest. Take some Corn leave the money in the jar.
Open aisles in stores where sometimes you had to wait for the Cashier to come over.
Stopping at a Stop Sign, at 3 am in the middle of nowhere.

Basic trust has eroded. And the rot goes way deep.

Which came first?
The thieving Politician? Or the kid stealing the candy bar?

It’s classic communist behavior. Simple as that.

Well, there’s always been thieves and scofflaws. But we used to punish and shun them. Now, in many cases, they’re celebrated.

Colombia counted all its ballots in one day for its presidential election. An entire country, with a population that dwarfs California’s.

Tell me the elections aren’t rigged.

The “how” is not nearly so important as the “why”. This is action more nearly parallel to the actions of the Soviet Union or the Third Reich. And yet, the Democrat Socialists who engineered this nearly silent coup have in no manner suffered for their temerity, mostly because they “look like” the more staid Democrat party of the past.

One of the first conquests of socialism is to redefine “democracy”, and their definition has little to do do with democratic selection of candidates for office.

Same in Oregon. Voter motor and granting illegal aliens driver licenses guarantees they get mail in ballots. I witnessed it myself when legal aliens were sent ballots to the office because they used the office address for their mailing address. It was illegal for any election official to even ask for ID. But try to buy a beer and everyone is mandated to show an ID.

Democrats are filthy corrupt liars. And they are good at it. And they love it. Because it works.

Did you report that info to authorities?

I did report it to then Secretary of State, and soon to be gov, Kate Brown. Nothing was done and election officials are barred from asking for ID and confirming citizenship when it comes to voting. We need ID for everything else but not for voting and registering to vote is automatic no questions asked. Heck. When I moved back to this fetid state they didn’t ask for an ID to prove I was a citizen when I got a “real ID” for the driver’s license. I handed them my passport and birth certificate and the clerk at the DMV refused to even look at them. All I had to do was check a little box that said “I affirm” I am who a say I am and a citizen.

So you think California's built in corruption shouldn't be a federal matter?

The California corruption should be a federal matter if California is using federal funding for corrupt means. Their actions seem to show Mens Rea since they are blocking evidence collection..

What does Medicaid fraud have to do with elections? You’re comparing apples with oranges. Stay on topic at least

I know that not reading the source/link is a widespread Freeper disease, but at least scan before commenting.

Doing so avoids embarrassment.
