Good Riddance (Tucker Carlson)
Powerlineblog ^ | June 24, 2026 | John Hinderaker

We are a day or two late bidding farewell to Tucker Carlson, but, given the attention we have paid to his descent, a few comments are in order. Carlson says he is leaving the Republican Party. This is from Axios:

“I’m out,” Carlson said on an episode of the “Can’t Be Censored” podcast that aired Thursday but gained traction online Monday.

* “And if I’m out, then I think a lot of other people are out.”

* “I would not support the Republican Party. There’s no chance I would support the Republican Party,” Carlson said, adding that the GOP has “betrayed” voters by prioritizing Israel’s national security over America’s.

* “How could I or any American voter support a political party that’s not loyal to the United States. That puts the interests of a foreign country above those of its own citizens. It’s not possible to vote for people like that, and I’m not going to.”

Carlson apparently thinks we have no national security interest in degrading the military power of an adversary whose mantra for decades has been “death to America,” that refers to us as “the Great Satan,” that has killed hundreds if not thousands of American servicemen, that has sought for many years to acquire both nuclear weapons and ICBMs to deliver them to our shores.

Not to mention that Iran is the principal–almost the only–source of instability in the Middle East. Has any American president in the last 50 years questioned that we have a national security interest in peace in that region?

Of course one can disagree with the strategy of this administration, or any administration, in dealing with a hostile power like Iran. But the obsessive conviction that our effort to weaken our most bitter foe can only be explained by a traitorous desire to prioritize the interests of another country–Israel–is perverse. Or, to put it more bluntly, anti-Semitic.

Carlson said in the same interview that “he also won’t support Democrats and is unsure how he’ll vote moving forward.” I say: go ahead, Tucker, take the plunge. If anti-Semitism is the defining feature of your political philosophy, you have a natural home in the Democratic Party. “Right wing” commentator and fellow anti-Semite Nick Fuentes has already announced that he has become a Democrat. It is the natural next step. Watch for Carlson to take it before long.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

Let's be clear: The Israel-haters like Carlson don't regard Iran as our enemy. IOW they don't care how many Americans Iran has killed or will kill. They like Iran because Iran's enemy is their enemy. Carlson actually said that our military action against Iran was "evil". Such a claim only makes sense if Iran is the good guys.

I'm wondering if any of the low-IQ types will pop up to claim that Iran wasn't really building nukes and Netanyahu just fooled Trump into thinking they were. While that notion is idiotic on multiple levels, it would still not change the fact that Iran is our enemy.

I heard that Carlson is leaving the GOP and joining Hezbollah as an associate member.

But that just might be a rumor.

It doesn’t matter what Carlson thinks about any specific issue. He’s been a phony, self-hating conservative for at least 26 years. It would be best if he moves to one of those countries he actually like.

My question is Tucker just Bat Sh-t crazy or just act this way for money? I enjoyed him years ago as he pushed the limits. He went to far and Fox fired him most properly. Thus my question is who and what is Tucker today? Who does he work for? Who pays him? Is he mentally stable?

In his opus video he said he’s been a lifelong Republican. Ben Shapiro said that Tucker was a registered demonicRAT in the early 2000s. Tucker wouldn’t lie, would he?

What did they do to Carlson to make him wig out? When he was at Fox News he seemed pretty normal.

Carlson says he is leaving the Republican Party.

That sounds like one of those self-important people who thinks he has to announce that he’s resigning from a chat group.

… or some libtard leaving the country.

Who cares?

Tucker is likely riding on what he thinks is public sentiment, vs. what makes sense.

Based on history, Iraq, Syria, Libya (2011), his position makes sense as well. Many of our interventions in the past in that region made little sense. Ukraine makes no sense.

Finally, when you lie and over exaggerate, when you constanty invole some idea of WMD, human rights, the mad man leader, and terrorism as a justification for intervention, it loses its impact with the masses.

But Iran is different in both the root cause AND how we are executing this war. Iran really does want to build a nuke and they do not even deny this (the WMD argument is real and it’s a threat that affects us)!!!

IMHO, Iran is what happens when a government cries wolf repeatedly and the big bad wolf finally does come knocking on the door years later.
