This week the national average dipped below $4/gallon for the first time since March. This is an auspicious sign for Trump and his political fortunes, but to Iran hawks on the right, it comes at an unacceptable price. Fox News host Mark Levin, a usual Trump booster, is gravely disappointed that Trump seems to be abandoning his hopes for a regime change in Iran in order to salvage the midterm elections, and his own presidency. Neoconservative columnist David Harsanyi has turned against both Trump and Vice President J D Vance with blind fury for not pursuing the war further and settling on a peace without regime change.

Mike Pompeo could hardly contain the bitter disappointment on his Ozempic face. Mark Levin - who gets badly ratioed every day on his own X account- needs a diaper. Tom Cotton looked like someone pooed in his $80 DC lunch. Ben Dominich's big fat head, was full of anger and sadness.
The Israel-first quislings are out of their minds... and it is such fun to watch.
Gotta give Trump credit; he's taking a major black eye, pretending to extinguish the house-fire HE started, but he's wise enough to know when to stop digging. I was surprised to see him and even JD Vance slap the Netanyahu and Israelis so soundly.
On that, expect Netanyahu and the 5th columnist Israel-assets here in the USA to do everything in their power to derail this. The goal is to keep us warring and destabilizing the Mideast on Israel's behalf.
Poor Mark Levin has gone full AOC over it.
Israel First! Hating Israel is more important than annihilating the leftist vermin here.
That’s why it’s worth waiting for the full arguments, the actual text where possible, the technical follow-ups, and the counter-briefings before we all start flinging monkey shit at each other like it’s a tribal sport. Premature outrage, conspiracy takes, and “this is the worst deal ever” or “Trump just saved the world” declarations don’t clarify anything — they just lock people into performative positions that make later course corrections harder.
Listen to the case for the framework. Listen to the case against it. Demand the specifics on verification and consequences for cheating. Then argue like adults who actually want better outcomes instead of just winning the daily outrage cycle. The issues are complicated enough without adding self-inflicted stupidity to the mix.
And save your Rain man nonsense. My identity is a TRUE FOLLOWER of YESHUA.
Not everyone opposed to the Iran deal is a Neocon or Israel First.
Some of us are smart enough to know the US has an essential interest in neutering Iran and destroying their proxies.
Others pretend like there’s no issue whatsoever other than the price of gas at the pump. Those are the one’s worthy of ridicule and disdain.
I can understand where Neocons are coming from, but Christians who have the same unquenchable bloodlust as jihadists need some serious regrouping.
If there’s any silver lining with regard to the Iran debacle, is that it’s the last hurrah of the baby boomer Left Behind/Rapture brand of American Christianity, that’s done damage to the Christian witness in our country for far too long.
Younger conservatives, younger seekers, they want the real Jesus.
Thank you for your post.
Some of it is immediate:

From the text:
The United States of America undertakes to make fully available for use the frozen or restricted funds and assets of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Upon the implementation of this MOU, the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran will mutually agree on the procedures related to the release of these funds during the negotiations. Such funds, whether retained in the original account or transferred, shall be made fully usable for payment to any ultimate beneficiary designated by the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The United States of America undertakes to issue all necessary licenses and authorizations accordingly.
I am NOT a ‘neocon’ and don’t care for the blanket label histrionics coming from what seems like all directions.
Go ahead and defend ‘the deal’. Your right. Just like my right to critique. But elements are stoking fires.
IMHO this was the plan all along: Split the right.
(success, as viewed from my chair)
NOTHING to do with Iran, nukes, etc. (they were just a useful tool).
Some of us are smart enough to know the US has an essential interest in neutering Iran and destroying their proxies.
Really? Like what? If Hezbollah does or doesn't attack Israel, how is that "essential" to the U.S.?
I get how it's "essential" to the Israel First crowd, but how is it "essential" to the U.S. anymore than any other conflict around the globe (take yer pick)?
Bump.
Yes, the neocon enterprise is, thankfully, doomed, as are the (modernist, uniquely American) loony dispensational heretics.
They’ve been nothing but a blight on America and Christianity.
You are correct, the US does have "an essential interest in neutering Iran and destroying their proxies".
The problem is that the people of this country don't have the will to get the job done.
Hopefully the deal will kick the can down the road for many years.
I genuinely want to know, what is your ideal end-game scenario? And what costs (in terms of blood and treasure) do you find to be appropriate?

You have the strangest mix of hate and weird religious beliefs.
You either fight a War all the way, or you don’t fight it at all. Lesson hardly ever learned.
“Really? Like what? If Hezbollah does or doesn’t attack Israel, how is that “essential” to the U.S.?”
April 1983: The U.S. Embassy in Beirut was bombed in a suicide vehicle attack, killing 17 Americans.October 1983: A devastating suicide truck bomb destroyed the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, killing 220 Marines, 18 Navy sailors, and 3 Army soldiers.September 1984: A car bomb detonated at the U.S. Embassy annex in Beirut, killing 23 people, including two American service members.December 1984: Hezbollah hijackers diverted Kuwait Airways Flight 221 to Tehran, where they tortured and killed two American officials from the U.S. Agency for International Development.June 1985: TWA Flight 847 was hijacked, resulting in the murder of a U.S. Navy diver among other passengers.1980s–1990s Hostage Crisis: Hezbollah militants kidnapped approximately 100 foreign hostages in Lebanon, including CIA station chief William Buckley, who died in captivity.June 1996: Hezbollah provided support for the Iranian-orchestrated truck bombing of the Khobar Towers military housing complex in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, which killed 19 U.S. Air Force personnel.2003–2011 Iraq War: Hezbollah armed, funded, and trained Shia militant groups that attacked U.S. deployment forces in Iraq.
Apparently you don’t care how many US personnel Hezbollah kills in their Iranian backed terrorism.
Trump knew when to stop the game unlike Bush in Iraq and Bush in Afghanistan; Bush could have left Afghanistan in 2003 with bin Laden’s head on a stake and it would have been considered a great accomplishment. He could have left Iraq shortly after he had invaded it if he had even the simplest plan for how to run a modern, reasonably well off country. But he did not know when to fold em and both occupations were a costly disaster. Trump knows: 1) the vast bulk of the American people will not support a long, ground war against Iran; and, 2) like Abe Lincoln in 1864, Trump has a momentous election coming up. If we lose the House and the Senate, you can forget about any action against Iran; but you can look forward to DC and Puerto Rico statehood; the expansion of the Supreme Court to 13 members to give it a leftist majority; jail for any significant Trump contributors or officials; and the total collapse of the US as we have known and loved it. Chicago, New York, LA and now Washington, DC all have Marxist mayors; do you really want this to spread to those states and localities that still have decent leadership? An ongoing war in Iran is simply not worth it.
All of which happens because we're over there backing Israel. How many more Americans would you sacrifice for Israel?
Well put.
