Firefighters responded to a fire Wednesday afternoon at a commercial building in Boyle Heights that sent a large smoke plume over the area near downtown Los Angeles.

The fire was reported at about 2:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of South Los Palos Street on the roof of the single-story Lineage cold food storage facility.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

Smoke rising from the building's roof, which is covered in solar panels, could be seen for miles around. At one point, firefighters were called off the roof, but video from NewsChopper4 showed LAFD personnel on top of the building as flames neared one end of the structure.

Yes. Another world famous Los Angeles fire.

They are dropping water on this one. Water should have been dropped on the Tracy fire. I am sure why they didn’t to it there.

Presser on now -

No firefighters inside. Went from offensive stance to defensive stance in fighting the fire.

Just think. Whatever purported environmental benefit derived from these solar panels has now been reversed 100X with this toxic cloud of heavy metals like lead, arsenic, corrosive gases like hydrogen fluoride, sulfur dioxide, and hydrogen chloride and other Volatile Organic Compounds.

It looks like they don’t have many ladder trucks. It seem there were more at the Tracy fire.

Yeah, stay in the building while it burns folks. Just like the dimbleshits in New York were telling Twin Towers escapees..”shelter in place”.

I don’t believe maintaining their fire fighting equipment is a top priority in the state.
