This means that once the midterms are over... we will have every justification to pound the living crap out of them. As always, the Kabuki theater is a necessary evil in any foreign policy initiative.

Asymmetric wars are a biotch. The asymmetric guy has all the time in the world. All they have to do is harass every once in a while and stay out of sight. The symmetric guy, however, does not have all the time in the world, and the longer it goes on the worse it gets.
And in this case the asymmetric guy has hundreds of mountain hideouts from which to harass, and all the symmetric guy can do is take it out on the general population that doesn’t live in the mountains and has nothing to do with it.

I said, “we will have every justification to pound the living crap out of them” Somehow that does not seem like appeasement, but because of political reality President Trump does have to keep one eye on the midterms.
What all the TDS children around here lack is patience, 47 years of every other President kicking the can down the road, means that it is going to take more than a few weeks of pinpoint bombing and even sending most of their senior leadership to hell in the first 30 seconds... to meet all of the objectives that are hoped to be accomplished.
My suggestion to you is to take a few deep breaths and then thank God that we finally have a President who was willing to do what was necessary to stop Iran in their tracks. The job will be completed when the time is right. Until then you are going to have to put on your big boy pants.
What is likely happening, and there might be rogue elements, is that the IRGC is fractured into three. The government bureaucrats, the hardliner military, and the clerics.
I tend to think that Trump picked on of the factions, not the hardliners, and declared them the defacto government and the others are angry.
More likely these are rogue local military units and there isn’t much command-and-control nationwide.
