A UC Berkeley camp counselor accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl while she slept in a campus dormitory has been slapped with eight felony charges, authorities said.
Quaylin Wesley, 27, a former youth basketball trainer, substitute teacher and Cal graduate, was arrested after the alleged attack during a summer camp hosted at the university on Saturday.
According to The Scanner, the girl was in a bed in a UC Berkeley residence hall when Wesley — who was serving as an overnight counselor — allegedly fondled her while she pretended to be asleep.
The suspect fled the room when one of the girl’s roommates rolled over in bed, but allegedly returned multiple times and attempted to assault her again.
The child eventually tried to wake her roommates, ran into a bathroom and alerted another camp counselor, according to the report.
UC Berkeley declined to identify the camp or its location, citing the victim’s age and the ongoing investigation.

I’m sure he got into Berkeley on academics.
Academic standards at Berkeley have fallen for many DEI students, fallen down and flattened out, like a pound cake after the oven door was slammed.
