Iran insists on nuclear enrichment under any deal with US

Iran insisted on Friday on its right to enrich uranium and maintain control over the Strait of Hormuz under any deal with the United States, after President Donald Trump said a draft accord was ready.

US ally Israel has said that Trump had promised it that any agreement would see Iran stripped of its enriched nuclear material, but Tehran's official IRNA news agency said this was not even on the table.

I am baffled as to why POTUS puts up with this crap.

His fear of war over essential US interests is a liability for the nation.

And ‘round and ‘round we go.

Iran is sadly making a fool of POTUS.

“I am baffled as to why POTUS puts up with this crap.”

The bad news is that it looks like Iran is making a clown out of Trump.

The good news is I don’t have enough information to know what is planned, and the exit strategy. It’s not like there’s an option, but we sit tight and watch it play out.

Who keeps telling President Trump that there is a deal? Kushner? Who the hell is "negotiating" with these scum balls? Vance?

I'd hand it over to Rubio. If nothing comes of that after a day or two, I'd hand it over to Bibi. Israel has no sentimental illusions over Iran. Israel know that there is only one language these sand apes speak.

Is it time for Trump to shout out another angry F-bomb Trump Social tweet?

Or cuss out Bibi?

Maybe both?

He shouldn’t. Time to do some HE urban renewal around Tehran, Mashad, and especially Qom.

They don’t have enough space for parking lots. Time to help ‘em out.

I am baffled as to why POTUS puts up with this crap.

None of us are "in the room," so we can only guess and create narratives that fit the data points we have seen.

Some people choose to believe Iran is very powerful. And some people believe Trump and the Pentagon have no long-term plan. Neither of these are true

My narrative is that Pentagon planners and Trump had to expect a long-stalemate if the original "regime change" operation did not succeed. Therefore, Trump intends to keep the Straits closed and ride-out any economic shock from possibly higher oil prices, while the world simply moves away from Iranian oil and makes the Gulf, over time, strategically unimportant.

It's a form of long-term "containment" of Iran. We've had sanctions, now the sanctions include a complete military blockade.

The constant social-media announcing of "deals" its twofold - 1) it suppresses the price of oil, and 2) it gives Trump the ability to say "see how many times I tried with these people?"

Trump is the negotiator. He is in charge. He makes the final decisions. Quit blaming everyone else for it.

Is he the President, or isn’t he? I assume he knows what the deal is, he says he talks to them. Does he or doesn’t he? Nobody is going to, or has the power to sign his name on it. Are you saying he is like Biden and the autopen? Ask yourself this, why is he sending Vance, instead of signing this momentous deal himself? Vance is only doing this at the behest of President Trump.

This is resembling Operation Warp Speed. Do what’s popular and expedient to resolve a quagmire of your own making. Trump flipped from “its the flu” to believe the lie, “its going to kills us all”. For the haters, DeSantis did not.

At least the press forgot about Ukraine, for now. I pray I’m wrong about this. JD is out defending the deal. He claims the terms have teeth and the rumored details are false.

We should be doing that anyway because the goal of the Islamic world is to convert Infidels to Islam. They've been spending $$$ in the West in order to reach that goal (especially Qatar).

Enough! Iran has never honored a treaty since 1979, so there is no reason to expect a signed treaty to mean anything anyway. Use the IDF to secure Kharg Island, shut the pumps off, and close the flow of funds to Iran. Meanwhile, continue air strikes on coastal batteries so ships can start moving again while keeping the blockade in place. Don’t even waste your time in negotiations.

It looks like their saying one thing privately and another thing publicly.

Maybe what they said privately was a feint to buy time.

Maybe they’re own side is divided and putting out conflicting messages.

Maybe privately they’re willing to negotiate to save their skins, while publicly they want to save face.

Maybe their hoping that hoping that making public such “non-negotiable” demands will put pressure on Trump to cave.

The Islamonazi regime will lie to anyone. For them it’s a religious obligation. This includes their friends in the fake news mafia. It even includes other members of their own regime.

Which Iran? They rotate from "tribe to tribe" and there's always someone different in charge.

Back during our Indian wars, Washington could never comprehend that Indian tribes were so independent and autonomous that when DC talked to one tribal chief, it didn't stick. That was because a different tribe, with their own chief, would do something different.

Trump needs to assume they will never, ever, agree to his demands and a) attack/invade/bomb, whatever or b) give up. He's starting to look like LBJ in Vietnam.

Given the leadership of Iran, there is basically a choice between letting Iran do what it wants to, or vaporizing them.

Playing Whack-A-Mole on individuals identified in leadership roles or locations identified as a uranium enrichment site is a winless game that will go on for decades.

Iranians realize Trump is playing with them with his constant declaration of “peace”. So now they are mimicking him....I would guess we have every military important target dialed in...would not be surprised if the gulf states are prepared to be boots on the ground after all military assets of Iran are drained. Lots of oil there...
IMHO...
