Sen. John Fetterman and his possible future U.S. Senate colleague Graham Platner are both Democrats, but that’s not keeping them from trading profanity-laced barbs.
During a town hall on Sunday, Platner — the frontrunner in Maine’s Democratic primary on Tuesday — was asked about forming relationships in the Senate if he were eventually elected.
Platner chose to compare himself to Fetterman, who has frustrated Democrats with his constant criticism of the party, frequently on Fox News, and his support for President Donald Trump’s nominees and policies, such as the Iran war.
“As you can all probably tell, I got a lot of criticisms about the way this government functions, but in order for us to make it functional, we’re going to have to do stuff,” said Platner, according to The National News Desk. “And you can’t just go down there and be John Fetterman and ... just sort of be an —hole.”
Fetterman’s office did not respond to a request for comment from PennLive on Tuesday.
Platner’s remarks came a day after Fetterman went on Fox News’ “Saturday in America” show and challenged Platner to prove he did not send photos of his penis to underage females.
If Platner proved him wrong, Fetterman offered to ditch his trademark hoodie and shorts combo and wear a suit every day in the Senate.
Besides a since-covered Nazi tattoo and controversial past online comments about fellow veterans, Platner has drawn coverage for sending sexual texts to women during the early part of his marriage, which his wife reported to his campaign.
Referencing comments Platner made about him in April, Fetterman, using Platner’s online moniker of P-Hustle, explained his wager offer, reported Mediaite.com.
“And now I said, you know, P-Hustle, here’s a great chance. You can just prove that all these people that you’re dropping those (expletive) pics and saying these [girls] to were over 18. And now I will wear a suit every day in the Senate and now you can set the record clear and provide all those texts and all those conversations that you were having as a newlywed, but just, just before you were going to run for the Senate.”
Fetterman also questioned Platner being on a messaging app called Kik.
“That dude was on Kik for a decade. I mean, do you know what Kik is? Just anyone watching, Google what Kik is,” said Fetterman, according to Mediaite. “You know, they have serious underage problems with people that are in there, and they go there because it can be anonymous and they can do all kinds of deprave things.”
Over the last few months, Fetterman, a strong supporter of Israel, has criticized Platner and Democrats for supporting him, frequently pointing out the primary candidate’s former Nazi tattoo.

The Presidential race is usually sewn up by the Pennsylvania Primary so becoming a Donk for a couple of weeks won’t hurt.
