WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump has issued a pardon to Stephen Buyer, a former Republican congressman from Indiana who served nearly two years in prison for making illegal stock trades based on inside information after he left office.

Buyer was sentenced to 22 months in prison in 2023 for trades made while working as a consultant and lobbyist. He was ordered to forfeit more than $350,000, representing the amount of the illegal gains, and pay a $10,000 fine. He was released in 2025.

He should have just stayed in Congress - then it would have been legal.

Technically it is illegal for the members of congress to NOT be prosected for insider trading. The servants are legally (for what thats f ing worth) not allowed to pass laws that they are able to omit themselves from. Good pardon.Give him his money back too.

I would only pardon him if he was wrongly convicted and I’ll never find that out from the AP. See Tagline.

I for one notice a pattern in those Trump pardons and their offenses.

I read it. It sounds like he probably was targeted by deep state for his history with the Clintons/Biden and Trump admin 1. Seems he had other congressmen writing letters confirming it. What I dont know is if it was accurate he broke laws or not. I know it doesnt matter to deep state and they can fake dossiers and such or exaggerate what someone did or didnt do, so I dont know what he did.

Looks like he has already served his sentence, and it looks like the trading wasn’t done while he was in office??

How about Martha Stewart? She was a victim of James Comey. I was going to eat in her restaurant in Vegas but was afraid Martha would come up behind me with a sharp kitchen utensil! LOL!
