Zelensky complains Iran is taking priority over Ukraine for US
Washington Examiner ^ | June 3, 2026 | Max Grinstein

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky lamented during a Wednesday press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte that his country’s war with Russia is no longer top of mind for U.S. officials.

“Iran is the No. 1 issue for the United States, and only after that comes Ukraine,” Zelensky said in Kyiv. “Unfortunately, we are in the queue of these wars.”

Rutte arrived in Ukraine on an unannounced visit one day after a Russian drone and missile attack killed at least 13 people and injured more than 100. In the United States, members of the House of Representatives are forcing a vote on a bill that would authorize more than $1 billion in defense aid and up to $8 billion in direct loans to the embattled nation. The bill faces an uncertain future in the Senate.

While Zelensky said the “strongest option” would be to have American and European representatives at the negotiating table, he reiterated his desire to hold direct talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“We support any format, and I am ready for direct negotiations with Putin to end this war, rather than waiting in line for everyone to end all the conflicts in the world, and then it comes to us,” Zelensky said.

Deal with it, Buddy.
There are other things going on, besides your regional war with Russia.

Reminds me of a friend’s young son when they brought home a baby brother. Sorry, you’re not the center of our world anymore.

“Iran is the No. 1 issue for the...WORLD!”

Get over yourself. You’re a lot closer to nuke than we are.

But, it’s your call...

Russia and Iran are not acting in isolation. They are strategic partners on a military and nuclear level, and any response to their actions must recognize that reality.

Can we ignore the many reports that Russia is providing Iran with intelligence and targeting information that are being used against U.S. forces in the Middle East?? Can we?

When American troops are placed at greater risk through such cooperation, treating these threats as separate problems is rather crazy.

History offers a clear lesson. During World War II, the free world did not have the luxury of confronting only one member of the Axis alliance. The United States fought both Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan because defeating only one while ignoring the other would have left the broader threat intact.
The same principle applies today: when adversaries (Russia-IRAN) coordinate their efforts, confronting only one side of that partnership risks allowing the other to continue advancing the same strategic objectives against American interests and security.

Thus, the Russia-Iran Alliance must be fought as a whole.
Logical.

Well, America is already fighting against Russia via Iran.
It’s a typical proxy war.

Just like when America fought against Russia via Vietnam during the “Vietnam War”...

History is already repeating itself.
