Woke Los Angeles mayoral hopeful Nithya Raman burst into tears as early results showed she fell into a distant third place in the race.
Raman wept on stage on Tuesday night as she paid tribute to her children, saying her dwindling campaign had been 'about building a city that is worthy of you.'
While Raman tried to put a positive spin on results as many ballots were yet to be counted, she had already dipped into third place behind incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and reality TV star Spencer Pratt.
The left-wing candidate was a front-runner early in the race, but her support nosedived as she campaigned on a raft of woke policies including raising taxes, maintaining LA's 'Sanctuary City' status, and opposing bans on homeless encampments near schools.
With 63.1 percent of votes counted on Wednesday morning, Bass leads with 34.8 percent of the vote, as Pratt registered 30.4 percent support and Raman trailed at 22.3 percent.
The election will now head to a run-off between the top two candidates in November as no candidate can reach 50 percent, and Bass's total was enough to secure her place in the run-off election.
Raman would need a significant surge in late mail-in ballots to surpass Pratt and join the run-off, a fate that she appeared to acknowledge as she grew emotional in front of her supporters on Tuesday night.
She broke down in tears as she thanked her two young children, and said she had 'been a candidate for something as long as you can remember.'
'I hope you know, that everything every person in this room is fighting for in this campaign, has been about building a city that is worthy of you, and every child in this city.'

Spencer getting rid of fugly Bass is the prime objective, But this Nithya Raman creature is truly repulsive. Not born here of course but she is going to lead Americans into all kinds of garbage like socialism and green new stinking deals.

Here tears are delicious and welcome. Thanks to Pratt, at least the DSA won’t capture Los Angeles this time around. They will keep trying in the future.
Meanhile, DSA candidates are going strong looking like winners in New York state and New Jersey and other places.
The Democratic Socialists of America are becoming very successful taking over the Democratic Party this year. They are making huge inroads. It is not just Mamdani. They are gaining on many fronts in blue states.

Was she really that invested in winning? Seriously. People who end up crying over a political loss seem wound a little too tightly to me. No balance in their lives. Having said that, I’d still love to see the footage of Hillary’s drunken, rage-filled crying jag after she lost in 2016.
