Senate Democratic Minority Leader Chuck Schumer got the cold shoulder from the two Democratic candidates running for the House seat in the district he calls home.
During the feisty NY1 debate Monday night, Rep. Dan Goldman and Democratic primary rival Brad Lander were asked if they would support Schumer, 75, a Park Slope constituent, if he runs for re-election in 2028.
"I think it's time for new leadership in the Democratic Party. That's why I'm running in this race against Rep. Goldman," Lander said, throwing Schumer under the bus...
"I have not thought about it. I have no idea whether he's going to run or not. We'll deal with that when the time comes," Goldman told NY1 questioners Errol Louis and Courtney Gross.
Both said they would support keeping Brooklyn Rep. Hakeem Jeffries as the House Democratic leader.
"[Jeffries] endorsed me," Goldman added.
House District 10 includes downtown Manhattan neighborhoods such as the Lower East Side and Chinatown, as well as Brooklyn's brownstone and waterfront neighborhoods...
Both said they would pursue impeachment charges against Trump again if Democrats regain control of the House of Representatives...
Both said ICE should be abolished because of its controversial detention policies.
The candidates also touted more federal funding for public housing and raising taxes on the wealthy.
During the lightning-round questioning, Goldman said he planned on attending a Knicks championship playoff game.
Lander said he would attend a Knicks watch party because tickets to attend at Madison Square Garden are too expensive.

Candidates Brad Lander and Rep. Dan Goldman sparred over Israel, Trump impeachment and wealth.NY1
The Demagogic Party is just a collection of violent, rival street gangs.
Shumer, Lander, and Goldman? I, for one, am appalled by the lack of diversity amongst these anti-American leftists.
“I think it’s time for new leadership in the Democratic Party.”
Oh please commies, just different kinds of political quicksand.
Chuck Schumer is a prime example of a power broker who stayed past his time. He should have retired 5 or 10 years ago and made way for someone else. In his prime, he was a force. Today, no one respects him and he has no power. He’ll get shoved aside when the Dems retake the Senate. Especially with the new antisemitic crew that is taking over.
He’s the current exhibit A in our need for term limits.
The Stalinists are purging the Trotskyites.
My friends the issue is Goldman. He is a scumbag in the mold of Eric Swalwell without the sex, only smarter. In those 911 ‘hearings’ he was disgusting. You don’t give him an inch. He’s expected to lose the primary in 3 weeks. Let our people do more than wish for a victory. Kick him on the way out.
Sounds like an ambulance chasing law firm LOL.
“No fee unless we get money for YOU!”
The problem is the Demagogic Party.
Even their clothing is the same!
Have they forgotten that “orange man” is BAD?
It’s tragic to watch Schumer try to morph into the Mamdani of the Senate. The commies have taken over the Dem party, and they have no room for the likes of Schumer.
Sorry, not actually but with dems, ya never know.
Soon the fact that Donald J Trump gave Chuck Schumer one of his first campaign donations will be used to claim Chuck U is compromised! Let the games begin!
Goldman being tossed out on his ear along with Schlossberg coming in a distant third (at best) in the district to the immediate north in Manhattan is one the more pleasing narratives of the primary season. Zero-accomplishment inherited-wealth liberal posers begone!
That Lander underlines the weakening resistance of the Democratic Party to the crazies, even better...
