Jill Biden goes scorched earth on Kamala Harris over endorsement demands in new memoir

Vice President Kamala Harris acted like a “courtroom prosecutor” in her insistence that President Joe Biden immediately endorse her for the 2024 Democratic nomination after he abruptly ended his bid for a second term, former first lady Jill Biden writes in her forthcoming memoir.

In “View from the East Wing,” out June 2, Jill Biden recounts the conversation on July 21, 2024, when the 46th president told his second in command he would be the first commander-in-chief not to seek re-election since Lyndon Johnson in 1968.

“Oh my God, Joe. Are you sure?” Jill Biden recalls Harris saying before pushing for her boss’s backing, according to an excerpt reported by USA Today.

People are ignoring the fact that the time for primaries was over. If Biden pulled out of the race, it was Harris or no one. For the Democrats, Biden had to endorse Harris immediately. And as incompetent as she is, Harris was right to insist on it.

I think they could have picked someone else, but there were restrictions on using money donated to the Biden-Harris campaign. But those are just rules and could have been voided at will.

True. There was $95 Million dollars in the Biden/HARRIS. campaign fund.

Use it or lose it.

So voters be dammed? The powers that be on the Democrat side made that decision with ZERO input from those who vote. She was slithered into the race. Why even bother having elections or primaries or allow peons to chime in ? What a cluster

the DNC just forced AH Harris onto the ticket like they were the only people who mattered. That should be a albatross around their neck for years

And it doesn’t matter that primaries were over. The Democrat party waited way too long to ditch Joe Tato. They knew it, it’s coming out now that everybody knew and they act like it’s normal. Standard operating procedure for communists

The morning after the debate, conversations with Joe Biden asked about the morning endorsement. He responded: “I thought I was ordering breakfast.”

Do you not know how the U.S. system of government works? The U.S. does not have spot primaries pop up at any time.

Joe Biden won the primary to represent the Democrats in the 2024 election. If, for any reason, he can't do that, the VP he picked is automatically the presidential candidate.

There is no do over. Anyone who voted for Biden, was agreeing that it would be Kamala Harris, if he could not go forward.

Why do you want Democrats to have special privileges.

In 2002, Robert Toricelli was the New Jersey Senate candidate and because of scandal, his numbers were terrible. He dropped out, but it was long after the deadline for a party to change candidate. But courts illegally allowed them to change.

That is 100% false. The voters chose Harris when they voted for Biden. Just like the voters who vote for Trump picked J.D. Vance, if for ay reason Trump could not continue. And so and on and so forth with every presidential candidate going back to 12th Amendment.

It’s not like they had a lot of options. They could have run Shapiro but we see how the Democrat party feels about Jews. To run anyone else as long as a “black female” was available (not to mention the sitting VP) was unthinkable.

Didn’t DU go on for months and months how they ran a ‘perfect campaign’ and above any criticism?

Wasn’t Harris a former “courtroom prosecutor”? One of her few real jobs...

They should have run Newsom. I think there’s a good chance that he could have pulled it off. But there was the problem with Kamala Harris. They can’t just ignore her especially because Gavin Newsom is a white man.

Does anyone really believe the rats could not find a way to get that money to whomever they ran?

What really irks the Biden Crime Syndicate is that they will not be able to tap into the USAID $$$ to “sell some books” and steal some more taxpayer dollars.

That said, I’m sure Soros Junior and Senior will purchase a few copies.

I’ll never understand why Joe didn’t resign, making Kamala the first woman President.

Not only would the gushing media coverage of her swearing in ceremony have taken the wind out of Trump’s campaign, but as President, she would have had the perfect excuse for avoiding debates and tough interviews: the need to “hit the ground running” with a flurry of meetings with foreign dignitaries, governors, lawmakers, diplomats, SC justices and cabinet chiefs.

An incumbent President doesn’t needs to campaign at all - the nature of the job provides the kind of exposure campaign strategists dream of.

The DNC could have run out the clock until the election, creating a non-stop series of favorable photo opportunities for her without her once having to open her stupid mouth.

She would have enjoyed the “honeymoon” that every new President gets during the months leading up to the election - especially the first woman POTUS.

I was 100% certain that was going to be their play - their October surprise - and not doing that has to be the biggest blunder in the history of politics.

You are right. That was the only thing that made sense from day one. Look at what happened to Hubert Humphrey when LBJ stopped running, but stayed in office.
