It was once a sacred place, ushering you inside with its signature red roof and comforting smell of bubbling cheese in a special era now known lovingly as "the '90s."
In its prime, Pizza Hut wasn't just a restaurant chain โ it was an experience. The stained glass lamps, red booths and red cups. The fully loaded salad bar. The Pac-Man machines to keep you entertained while you waited for your personal-pan pizza.
"It was perfect," says one of many TikTok videos of the experience.
"Felt like home," someone commented on another nostalgic video.
Now, one of the largest franchisees in the U.S. is bringing Pizza Hut back to its retro glory days by revamping dozens of its locations, part of a larger overall push toward classic Pizza Huts.

The local Pizza Hut Restaurant in my area growing up was on “stilts.” It was a raised restaurant on piers about 12’ off the payment, with parking underneath. It was a date destination.
There used to be a baked pasta dish on the menu that I always ordered. Doubt they are bringing that back.
Speaking of nostalgia - how about bringing back Sambos and HoJo.
I was just telling some of my younger co-workers, we used to take girls out of dates to Pizza Hut back in the day, usually before you went to a movie. This was in a college town and there were always a lot of others doing the same.
Pizza Hut had really good pizza back then and they brought it to your table.
Vips Big boy.
I can’t imagine the quality will be anywhere near the same. It wouldn’t be feasible on the costs.
What do you expect they will serve in place of ‘meat topping?’
Dad used to take us to Pizza Hut in Fairbanks, Alaska for the pizza and pasta buffet (1975). Just a couple of doors down from the Shakeyโs Pizza I worked at later in high school.

40 yrs ago when I was stationed in Europe there was a pizza hut in a far away city. My wife and I took our son. He thought it was great and always wanted to go back, but I had too much duty to take them back. Great Pizza.
They closed their locations in Wauwatosa and Brookfield WI
The Pizza Hut on 321 in Gastonia NC was the big deal for country kids like me growing up in the 70s going into the mid 80s.
It was so good.
Bring back the original pizza recipe they had.
They can update the decor, but it will never be the same. Friday night pizza and arcades are from bygone days.
Not sure how big it was nationally - but I liked Shakeys. Could chose a variety of slices and great fried chicken at a fixed price
Probably won’t work out. People don’t ‘go out’ for pizza any more. It’s ‘takeout’ or delivery or freezer to oven...................
