As we've been reporting, Tuesday is primary runoff day with a bunch of hot Texas races, from the Senate, with incumbent Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) against Trump-endorsed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, to the House race with Maureen Galindo, the Democrat who made vile rants against "Zionists."
One of the hot races was in the 18th district. It pitted Rep. Christian Menefee, who had won the seat in a special election in January, against Rep. Al Green (TX-09), whose district had been redrawn and who decided to run in the more comfortably blue 18th.

It really wasn't even close. At last check, Menefee had 68.6 percent, Green had 31.4 percent. Al Green has been in Congress for 21 years.

He might have done better staying in the 9th; he scarcely could have done worse. And thanks for the added benefits of redistricting! Looks like Al is going to be out, while President Donald Trump - whom Green kept railing about and trying to impeach - remains.

Gotta love the game of musical chairs.
Radio host Chris Plante joked that the physically threatening Al Green raising his cane menacingly to aim it toward his targets in the GOP and yell was actually proving he had a faith healing miracle cure. Instead of being unable to step he could now raise the cane in the air and stand normally. Like the old Billy Graham Crusade cures.
Still a disgrace that ugly creature was tolerated in the House. For years. That makes a mockery of serious discussion over legislation and reduces the respect deserved by the institution.
