Ken Paxton, the Trump-endorsed and MAGA-backed insurgent, ousted Senator John Cornyn in a runoff on Tuesday, becoming the second primary challenger to knock out an incumbent Republican senator in less than two weeks in a raw display of President Trump’s powerful hold on the party base.
The contest was the most expensive primary in American history — and Mr. Paxton prevailed despite being outspent on advertising by pro-Cornyn forces by roughly $80 million.
Now, Republicans are bracing for a potentially competitive general election in Texas, where Democrats have not won statewide in a generation. Democratic donors nationwide have swooned for their nominee, James Talarico, a smooth-talking 37-year-old seminarian and state legislator, in the hopes he will realize their long-dashed dreams of turning Texas blue.

The only way Paxton doesn’t win the general election is if the Cornyn/Bush wing of the Republican Party get their feelings hurt over Cornyn losing and stay home for the general election.
Hopefully no more skeletons will come out of his closet...

That said, the election returns seem to indicate that there are not enough of them left that their abstention will make a difference. Most of them are old and vote like they’re voting for Pope. You’d think they’d know better by now.

Younger folks know that woke today no longer just divorce for cause, but simply because they are bored. Stats are that 80% of divorces are filed by women, something like 65% of those are not for actual transgression but because she was ‘unhappy’. No joke.
The divorce will not change the opinions of anyone under 65.
Worse - Cornyn recently tried to introduce a gun control bill in the Senate. He actively was working to screw Texas.
By the way, how are your RINO friends Rand Paul and Thomas Massie? Is Marjorie Taylor Greene on your fan list now that she endorsed Massie, and has turned against President Trump? Will she be actively campaigning with Massie when he tries to make an independent run on the ballot?
