Trump convenes rare Camp David Cabinet meeting as Iran deal pressure grows

President Donald Trump will convene a rare Cabinet meeting at Camp David Wednesday as negotiations with Iran enter a critical phase.

All Cabinet members are expected to attend the meeting, first reported by the New York Post and confirmed by Fox News, including outgoing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

The gathering comes as the administration weighs next steps in high-stakes negotiations aimed at securing a broader agreement with Tehran amid a fraying ceasefire.

Trump in recent days has suggested the sides are nearing a potential breakthrough, while Iranian officials have publicly pushed back on claims that a deal is imminent.

Camp David historically has been reserved for major national security and diplomatic deliberations. Trump hosted meetings on the property 15 times during his first term as president.

On June 8, 2025, Trump hosted Cabinet members and senior officials at Camp David for discussions on Iran and Gaza. Weeks later on June 22, 2025, Trump directed U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

Trump knows the current government cannot be trusted to negotiate. Everyone knows that.

It looks like he's getting ready to drop the hammer.

I’m inclined to doubt that. The U.S. is dead broke and can’t afford to keep this fiasco going.

Meeting at Camp David is a way to prevent leaks (or identify leakers), because the media can’t go up to the actual camp. They are taken to a designated holding area near the camp’s gates. If they have to stay overnight, they go to any of the local hotels in the nearby town. So if there is a leak, only someone actually up in the cabins attending the meeting would know what was discussed. Camp David is a US Navy installation, and an elite Marine Corps guard permanently protects the property 24x7x365.

Yes, that’s what I think also. No leaks because it may be go time soon. I can’t believe the lunatics in the IRGC will ever agree to anything meaningful. Trump surely knows this.

Interesting to know. You are certain of these statements?

Cheaper to bomb than to mess around any longer.

We just need to make sure they keep the deep-state CIA away.

Talk isn’t cheap: $510 million/day (US oil consumption 17 million barrels/day x $30/barrel premium to pre-war baseline pricing)

“The Tomahawk Block V carries an official FY2026 unit cost of $2.5 million, though contract prices range from $1.75 million to $4.1 million depending on variant and order size.”

https://govfacts.org/policy-security/military/defense-procurement-contractors/a-tomahawk-costs-2-million-heres-who-gets-paid-to-replace-it/

Each day of chatting with Iranians costs the taxpayers as much as 200 Tomahawks.

Those 200 Tomahawks could hit 31 Iranian refineries about six times in one day.

Commander Israeli, would you like to scalp Iran’s oil refineries?

Impossible. This might reduce it. Most of those folks are compromised.

If releasing $24 billion of Iran’s assets is part of the deal as is being reported, it’s worse than Obama’s deal with Iran.

Perhaps one of the controversies to discuss at the start of the meeting is the definition of the term “unconditional surrender” ... or at least to clear up how “unconditional surrender” applies to our “Death to America” adversary.

More drama from the drama queen.

He has become a parody of himself.

Wish we had a President that gets results quickly. Doesn’t chicken out. No drama. Gets the job done quickly and efficently.

The DOJ has 116,000 employees and 85%+ are democrats.

We need to move most federal government jobs out of DC. We cannot trust what those people do.

He had better take away all the cell phones, shoe phones and other inspector gadget and get smart accoutrements if he wants security.

Somebody has already accessed a tip line of some sort.

Oil trading is strange today. After WTI and Brent tracking each other up and down for weeks Brent is up and WTI is down. That does not compute.

Yes, absolutely certain. Look up where the media’s hold area is at Camp David and who operates and guards the camp property.

Yeah Trump has become George Bush because like every other president he is holding a meeting at Camp David. Not.
