Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner is leading Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) in the race for her seat by 7 points, according to a new poll.
In the Pan Atlantic Research poll, 48 percent of likely voters said they back Platner in a hypothetical matchup, while 41 percent said they support Collins. Eleven percent were undecided.
When broken down by gender, 53 percent of women respondents backed Platner and 34 percent supported Collins. Men surveyed, meanwhile, said they support Collins over Platner, with 47 percent backing the incumbent and 44 percent supporting her potential challenger.
The Democratic Party establishment was rattled when Platner’s competitor in the primary, Maine Gov. Janet Mills, suspended her campaign for Senate in late April as polls showed she was badly trailing her rival Democrat. The state’s Democratic primary is on June 9.
Platner’s rise came amid heated discussion over the party’s future and outsiders from the left taking their place in the spotlight, such as New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D), whose own race last year generated significant national attention.

Platner Smooths Things Over With Democrats By Covering Nazi Tattoo With Hammer & Sickle https://t.co/ywnpCcjBsR pic.twitter.com/P47TIvWKas— The Babylon Bee (@TheBabylonBee) May 24, 2026
Frying pan into fire..
what did she expect in playing middle of the road/wishy washy for years?
When broken down by gender, 53 percent of women respondents backed Platner and 34 percent supported Collins. Men surveyed, meanwhile, said they support Collins over Platner, with 47 percent backing the incumbent and 44 percent supporting her potential challenger.
Platner is the next Democrat hybrid.
1. White boy for the Maine folks.
2. Straight-up Mamdani Commmnist.
3. Unkempt slob like Fetterman.
4. Can throw the vet card, but simultaneously hates the military. pic.twitter.com/xwAMIARgy5— john jackson (@pvtjokerus) May 25, 2026
It was always going to happen as Maine has slowly gone full commie.
Couldn’t be much worse than Collins and maybe Maine will learn a lesson here.
Collins trailed by ~7% in every poll before her last election, and she won by 8%.
Don’t trust liberals polls in the NE
She’ll be fine.
The first district is liberal.
The second congressional district, 80% of the state’s land area, is purple.
Along the coast it has liberal tendencies but the further inland you go, it becomes deep red.
Maine splits it’s electoral votes. President Trump carried district 2 in 2016, 2020 and 2024 by double digits, earning him one electoral vote each time.
I’ve seen photographs of Platner training Antifa how to shoot in the woods of Maine. The national media should get on this story. The tattoo is one of only many alarm bells about this creep.
JUST IN: Graham Platner holds a wide lead in the Maine Senate election despite growing calls for him to drop out.
74% chance he flips Maine’s Senate seat. pic.twitter.com/VWVx5MBCc4— Polymarket (@Polymarket) May 25, 2026
Platner also "holds a lead" with all of the Nazi SS descendants in Brazil and Argentina.
Isn’t that the nazi guy?
Maine has the second most number of White people on welfare behind West Virginia. A lot of the states revenue comes from summer tourism, and has few industry (no jobs), hence the fetish for big government. Also, Portland and Lewiston have been flooded with tens of thousands of Muslim Somali’s (90% on welfare). So besides it’s geographic beauty, Maine is a shithole state.
God help us.
Except that this time they're going to vote for the Nazi.
Say what you will about Susan Collins - at least she doesn’t have any Nazi tattoos that we know about. Wtf is wrong with Maine voters?
Collins was given a 2% chance the last time she ran. And that was in 2020, the year Biden crushed Trump. She should win handily, unless polling has improved, which I doubt.
There's energy behind Platner which was not the case in 2020.
