Turkey’s total fertility rate — or the average number of children a woman is expected to have — has been declining for more than a decade. It now sits significantly below the 2.1 needed to keep the population stable without migration, much less to increase it.
Demographers attribute the decline to factors common in countries around the world: urbanization, changing lifestyles and the spread of higher education, especially among women.
They also blame the economy shaped by Mr. Erdogan’s economic policies. Persistently high inflation and low wages have left many families struggling to afford housing, child care and other necessities.
“Food is very expensive,” said Cigdem Akyuz, 41, a mother of two in Istanbul.
She wanted a third child, she said, but found the prospect unaffordable. She considered Mr. Erdogan’s call for more children unrealistic.
“He keeps saying: ‘Have more children! Have three kids!’” she said. “How is that even possible?”
In 2017, it fell below the replacement level. In 2024, the last year for which the government has released statistics, it reached an all-time low of 1.48.
This month, the government extended parental leave for mothers to 24 weeks from 16 and for fathers to 10 days from five. Other new policies grant parents a payment of about $110 on the birth of their first child. Families can get monthly stipends if they have more than one child, $33 for the second and $110 for any others. Young couples can apply for interest-free loans to defray marriage costs.

I must admit the Turkish soap operas are pretty good, they show them on the Spanish channels here and dub them into Spanish.
Masturbating to Porn has consequences IMHO.
The real thing should be the focus IMHO between males and females in marriage.
I thought “the population bomb is everybody’s baby.”
I remember this A-hole bragging a few years ago about how muslims were outbreeding Western Europeans and blah blah blah. Well now Turkey’s birthrate has collapsed.
It’s hard to reproduce when all the young moosimb men are in Europe, raping European women
“...a few years ago about how muslims were outbreeding...”
If you were a muslim woman, and your pre-selected husband was beating you, and he hadn’t bathed in a week, then when you stopped bleeding he wanted sex, wouldn’t you at that point lock the bathroom door and sleep in the tup? Not a real romantic evening.

1.48 translates into each generation declining over 25 percent over the prior.
To be fair, most if not all of those rapiwgs are pakis or Afghans or Africans
I remember hearing in Singapore, more than 30 years ago, that the government was sponsoring a “Social Development Unit” which was intended to get highly educated young people married, and have children. At first they sponsored cruises to Phuket, but then the young people held out for Hong Kong.
After three years, there was finally one marriage. One of the women on one of the cruises married on of the cruise ship workers.

Notice how in Africa the population continues to grow. Over a billion and nobody in their right mind wants them. They want to come anyways and are turning Europe into another sh*thole.
Why is the population growing there and not most of the rest of the World. My theory is Social Security. Before Governments assumed the responsibility of taking care of its old people , people had kids as a way to provide for their future.
In Africa and some of those other countries the Governments are little more than organized crime. People in those places are having kids to take care of them in their old age because they know their worthless Governments will not.
In sub Saharan Africa the birth rate is also falling. It’s still over replacement but falling fast.
India is below replacement
Your theory about social security is largely correct; in regions lacking government old-age pensions, children serve as the primary social safety net and an essential form of economic security for aging parents.
Though, the Total Fertility Rate (TFR)—the average number of children born per woman—is steadily dropping across the continent of Africa. In the late 20th century, the regional average was well over 6.0 children per woman. According to World Bank Data, the regional average has dropped to roughly 4.2 to 4.3 children per woman. this average will fall further to about 3.0 or below replacement by 2050.
Urbanization, education etc are reducing this quickly.
Som there is some hope
