A Democratic strategist stunned a CNN panel into silence after claiming a new congressional map set to make a black Republican the odds-on favorite to win the election is racist.
Democratic strategist Tezlyn Figaro made the argument on Thursday's NewsNight after journalist Lydia Moynihan pointed out how the redistricting bid will help the odds of GOP candidate Charlotte Bergmann, a black woman, in Tennessee.
The new map made it through the state's general assembly hours before.
Moynihan framed the situation as 'ironic', given that many critics have called the redraw racist. They say it dilutes the state's only black-majority district, despite the fact it effectively makes Bergman frontrunner.
Moynihan also flagged how the Democratic incumbent who has held the seat for nearly 20 years, Steve Cohen, 76, is an 'old white man'.
'Is that racist?' she asked. Figaro and other panelists bristled in response.
'It actually is,' Figaro said over the crosstalk, before host Abby Phillip frantically called for a break.
The moment was widely shared on social media.

The term “doublethink,” as first seen in George Orwell’s '1984,' is used to describe one’s capacity to hold two contradictory beliefs at one time.
Maybe it was conveniently just a hard break, but the host sure didn’t want that discussion to continue and go on longer - pointing out for longer period of time to the audience a black woman would likely be elected in this supposedly “racist” district to replace a white male. These things aren’t supposed to exist - doesn’t fit the narrative the brainwashed audience is supposed to believe...a handful of them might start rethinking what they have “learned”...and we can’t have that.
Because commies dont consider black Republicans to be black, just like they dont think that women who are pro life are real women, and that hispanics that vote Republican are real hispanics, the list goes on and on

It makes perfect sense in Democrat logic. Anything pro-Democrat is pure and decent. Republican automatically means racist. Larry Elder who ran for California Governor as a Republican was deemed “the black face of white supremacy”. This is how absurd their mentality is. And it’s been going on for so long I really wonder if they actually mean it - because it’s so obviously ridiculous as a political tactic that it seems they really do believe this horsecrap.
Yes, that may be it. They can only get to around 30-35% using their unions (usually government unions). And a lot of that 30-35% already overlaps with Black and Hispanic. They need to create the association that "Republican=Racist/Fascist" and hope that people won't actually notice the candidates' melanin content or last name. The only time being Black, Hispanic, Gay etc isn't something they want to promote is when the candidate is not a Democrat.
In the pantheon of Demoncrat scum (but I repeat myself) Cohen holds a very high ranking. But then again, the current party is so filled with truly evil, vile (note the perfect anagram) people it almost seems unfair to single out any particular one.
So, Democrats are reaching back into their Civil War disposition. They wanted the guy to be white.
