On Tuesday, I stood before the Fresno County Board of Supervisors and spoke my truth as a trans woman, a taxpayer, a daughter, a sister, a wife and a member of this community. I watched as three supervisors voted to erase the celebration and visibility of people like me. In a 3-2 decision, Supervisors Garry Bredefeld, Nathan Magsig and Buddy Mendes voted to bar the Fresno County Public Library from participating in the Fresno Rainbow Pride Parade and Festival, as well as from celebrating Pride Month entirely.

These people are mentally ill, are more likely to be involved in crime, murder, suicide, child sexual abuse and other social pathologies. They need psychological help, not support.

There should be celebrations for formerly morbidly obese people who have lost at least 250 pounds, cerebral palsy people, kidney failure people, ultra marathoners, recently widowed mothers, Angel Moms, recently recovered stroke people, volunteer caregivers, EMT’s, Search and rescue people, before we have celebrations for self mutilators.
So according to this trans activist, the fact that the board of supervisors voted to not have a public library participate in a gay pride parade is a cruel act of erasing the existence of trans people. We’re reaching parody territory here. You don’t buy into the ever more extreme genuflecting to the trans cause? Then you are cruelly erasing the existence of trans people.

If everyone has their own truth then Bill Clinton is not a liar. Then any “objective” truth is in the hands of fact checkers. What a dream come true for fact checkers who otherwise have no marketable skills.
