Another DEI hire

San Leandro’s chief of police has been charged by the Alameda County D.A. with hit-and-run for a May 2025 crash.
Chief Angela Averiett allegedly clipped a woman’s car on an interstate freeway in an unmarked Jeep with police lights.
The chief of police allegedly fled the scene after the crash and told CHP officers she had chest pains, but that they subsided.

The county added that this amount does not include an admission of liability.

Of course not.

The board of supervisors ain’t payin’ squat. The local taxpayers are gonna foot the bill, ultimately. Yes, there is Insurance, but the premiums have a deductible like anything else, and rates probabky vary depending on how many lawsuits they pay out. Bad risk.

Right on. Due to qualified immunity, no dirtbag official is ever going to see one iota of consequense for his or her actions. The property owners however will take it in the shorts. Just like always.
