Kash Patel denies excessive drinking allegations as ‘total farce’ in Senate hearing

Embattled FBI director Kash Patel has denied under oath allegations of excessive drinking and unexplained absences on the job, dismissing them as “baseless” during a fiery congressional hearing.

Patel sought to push back as Democrats challenged him over the “extremely alarming” reports, which ran in the Atlantic, which they argued would a mount to a “gross dereliction” of duty.

The FBI director has sued the magazine, and the author of a story it published, filing a defamation lawsuit in US district court for the District of Columbia that seeks $250m in damages.

“It’s a total farce. I don’t even know where you get this stuff,” Patel told Chris Van Hollen, ranking member of the Senate appropriations subcommittee, after he asked about the claims reported by the Atlantic. “I will not be tarnished by baseless allegations.”

When Van Hollen asked if Patel would be willing to take a test to determine whether he has a drinking problem, the FBI director snapped that he would – provided the senator would take it alongside him.

In his opening remarks, Van Hollen said: “What we are learning about what’s happening at the FBI is anything but normal. When your private actions make it impossible for you to perform your public duties, we have a big problem … these reports about your conduct, including reports you’re being so drunk and hungover that your staff had to force entry into your home are extremely alarming, if true, they demonstrate a gross dereliction of your duty and a betrayal of public trust.”

Patel’s answer should have been “The FBI has received anonymous tips that you are a pedophile, but we did not feel they were nothing more than a partisan smear campaign. Perhaps we were wrong”.

Patel ripped him a new one and pointed out that Holland has the largest bar tab in Washington D.C., and also was the only drinking buddy of the Maryland Daddy Cartel dude.

Excessive?? What is “excessive” on the Nancy Pelosi BOOZE Scale?

Anything less than a case of Tito’s is a lite-weight.

I love drinking. I would rather have a drunk boss in charge than those bloated senator hypocrites.

In my view Patel LOVES the camera too much.

Patel may have thought having his picture taken “chugging” that beer was “cool” but he needed to understand that Elite Stream Media will go to ANY links to destroy him.

I don’t believe for a second that Patel has a drinking problem, but the media took that picture and created a narrative to match the picture.

An Elite Stream Media has the power bombard the public with any narrative true or false.

Hillary once had a blood alcohol test.

They found she had 2% blood in her alcohol system

Democrats have totally lost their minds-the standard tests used by many employers only show alcohol or drug consumption within a limited number of hours/days. There is no test to determine whether an individual has a “drinking problem”-that requires a mental health professional-a psychotherapist, etc who specializes in substance abuse/addiction. And unless it is glaringly obvious, the issue itself is mostly subjective anyway...

Holland-with his bar tab and margarita meetings with illegal criminals in foreign countries needs to stfu...

I would rank the Atlantic right down there with the New York Slimes in terms of credibility.
