Howdy, pardner!
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is welcoming Big Apple companies relocating or expanding in the Lone Star State after New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani demonized billionaire hedge-fund honcho Ken Griffin for being rich.
“Governor Abbott is proud to welcome businesses and job creators from across the country to Texas, where we have no state income tax, reasonable regulations, and a pro-growth environment that encourages free enterprise to flourish,” Abbott’s spokesman, Andrew Mahaleris, told The Post.
“Punitive policies that target successful job-creating entrepreneurs only accelerate the trend of companies choosing Texas,” Gov. Greg Abbott’s spokesman Andrew Mahaleris said.
Texas has already surpassed the Empire State when it comes to financial sector employment, with a total of 519,000 employees compared with New York’s 507,000, according to data from the nonprofit Partnership for New York City.
JPMorgan Chase now has more employees in Texas than in New York — where the Big Apple is at risk of losing its crown as the center of the global financial industry.
In a one-two punch, Griffin as well as Apollo Global Management honcho Marc Rowan threatened to expand outside New York City — while a silent wave of businesses have been “quiet quitting” the city over its hostile environment, insiders told The Post last week.
A White House adviser said Mamdani’s anti-corporate, anti-rich CEO rhetoric is a gift that could help Republicans retain the White House in 2028 after President Trump leaves office.
“Don’t interrupt your enemy when he’s making a mistake,” the White House insider told The Post.
“People in New York are looking at real estate in Dallas and Miami,” said the GOP source with ties to New York.

Good for Abbott. Let’s hope that Texas doesn’t find a way to screw this up by starting to implement Democrat-lite policies.
These Mandami types of mayors don’t mind that much if businesses, normies, conservatives, big Wall Street firms leave NYC. Their attitude is, “Good that they are gone. Now I can get re-elected” “I don’t mind ruling over the ruins of a once great city”
This applies to the numbskull female mayor of Seattle too.
The future of NYC is to look like Muslim ruled Karachi, Pakistan.
my worry is how liberals are trying to use the rural data center issue to split off enough rural voters for the big cities to take over.
We have to start fighting back on this issue. Every time a new data center is proposed in a rural area, it needs to be made clear the property taxes for local residents will be greatly reduced or eliminated by the extra property tax the data center will be paying
Easy prediction. As normies and the middle class whites & middle class minorities bail out of NYC.....It will become more and more Muslim, browner, more immigrant, more socialist & leftist.
The destruction of Texas project continues…
I don’t like the premise of offering tax-incentives to “certain” businesses. That is the equivalent of picking winners and losers. Treat them all the same and just make it conducive for all businesses to proper.
The “business community” deserves this. Many of them funded the communists and even more of them sat by idle, as they watched the communists gain control.
That’s wrong it’s The Big Rotten Apple
2) Buying choices, including the choice to not make a purchase, can be done by the rich and poor alike.
3) And, of course, to win or lose politically are not the only options. People walk away. They are noticed when they are absent.

Great plan Mamdani, what’s the new plan to generate revenue for NYC government?

Depends on what kind of people move to Texas (or other normal states). If they are normal decent people escaping the filth then all’s good. On the other hand, if it’s the filth itself that’s moving then the normal states are cornholed.
” Every time a new data center is proposed in a rural area, it needs to be made clear the property taxes for local residents will be greatly reduced or eliminated by the extra property tax the data center will be paying”
That’s the promise the developers always make, that the more development there is, the lower the taxes will be. It never pans out. Build another shopping mall or another housing complex on Long Island and your taxes will go down they said. It never happened. They always went up.
Good for Abbott. Let’s hope that Texas doesn’t find a way to screw this up by starting to implement Democrat-lite policies.

Griffin needs to do his part to keep this from happening. The people tearing down the USA are never short of cash.
Abbott’s rejoinder to Zohran the Moron’s anti-capitalistic spiel was perfect.
All it does is makes the Blue states even bluer, and the Red States more purple.
I lived near an area in the 1980’s where the homeowner paid zero property taxes because the local mall generated enough tax revenue.
So it can be done, and should be part of the approval process in any area. We will only approve if the proposal is coupled with the elimination of local property taxes for homeowners.
