Why Americans still believe our best days are ahead, even in divided times
Fox News ^ | May 8, 2026 3:38pm EDT | Bret Baier

Posted on 05/09/2026 12:50:16 PM PDT by E. Pluribus Unum

When my new book, "The Case for America," was launched this month, the first thing I wanted to do was hear from my listeners and readers about how they would make the case. So, I published an invitation on my website asking people to record short videos, and I’ve been playing some of them on air during "Special Report."

I’ve been happy with the diverse contributions from across the country. The optimism and pride are like a tonic in a time often characterized by disagreement. Here are the voices of our fellow Americans making the case. I hope you are as inspired by them as I have been.

In the book, I write about the immigrant success story that continues to stand as proof of our special nature. Charlie C. is an example of the immigrant success story. "I believe the U.S. is unique because it's a place where immigrants can rise from the lower middle class to the top 3% in just one generation," Charlie said, describing his own experience. "My family moved here when I was 10, and we started in suburban Philadelphia with very humble means. McDonald's was a luxury. My English was very limited, but through hard work, I went on to attend an Ivy League school and earn a PhD. Now I'm one of the top engineers at a Fortune 500 company, surrounded by 18,000 colleagues. I'm grateful for a wife of 24 years and three wonderful kids. I believe my achievements would not be possible anywhere else, as this country is the only one founded on a belief in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all."

Well said.

Still don’t like him despite his pro-American stance.

I consider him too priggish.

The professional diplomat’s handshake always takes two hands. One on top of the other. He’s learned it. She looks lost.

Fox must have an army of ghost writers. Every one of their “hosts” writes a book every year. It must be part of their compensation plans.

Divided times??

Jefferson and Adams were “divided” about many things. But they loved America, freedom, natural rights, and were devout. You might call Jefferson and Adams the first America Firsters.

Today we have The Party of Hate, The Party Of Death democRAT/DemoKKKrat. They HATE freedom, religion, and themselves. Some of them openly admit that shooting their opponents is justified for the greater good.

Fortunately, there are a lot more of us. As long as we keep confronting the evil among us, we have a chance to prevail. And, as long as we keep our powder dry.

As long as the US taxpayers can keep up the interest payments on the debt to various insidious satanic usury banking/securities/investment institutions, keeping US Treasuries afloat, appeasing the gibsmethats class which includes SS/pensioners from starting riots, enough funding for Department of War, and sustaining the illusion of a middle-class strung out on private debt, everything will still be smelling like roses.

John was pretty upset when he thought Tom had outlived him on July 4, 1826.

I’ve never forgotten how Brett Baeir sabotaged Trump during the 2020 campaign. He And Martha McCallum (ugh) held a virtual town hall from the Lincoln Memorial. They pre-selected videos from around the country. There were about 20 videos, all but three of which were anti-Trump speeches followed by a snarky question, two were neutral and one was pro Trump. Worse yet Baier and McCallum had follow up attacks on Trump written on papers sitting on their laps. After all, they had chosen the video questions in advance

Trump is the master of the actual Townhall where random people get to ask questions. That was not what took place here .

As much as I love the Blood Sport that is Politics, and as much as I distrust and revile Mother Government, I have survived EVERY President in my lifetime so far from JFK through President Trump.

If you have your wits about you, you can always, ALWAYS Improvise, Adapt and Overcome just about ANYTHING Mother Government throws at you.

For the most part you CAN just ignore her and go about your life. Ignore the Enemy Media, too. ;)

That ‘Town Hall’ was a hard one to stomach. A public lynching of President Trump, basically.

One other commonality between Jefferson and Adams was they both could not stand Hamilton; Jefferson from a fundamental idea POV; Adams personally did not like him and vice versa.

I still love Trump, but he is not the same Trump who came down the Trump Tower golden escalator on June 16, 2015. He’s eighty years old now, and it’s caught up with him. He would have been that Trump in his second term had 2020 not been stolen from him.

I’m not optimistic. With the violent incompatible illiterate third world turds out breeding everyone we only need to look to the slums of Mumbai, Haiti, Syria, Somalia, and Mexico to know the future. These people made their own S holes because they like the s hole lifestyle.
