CASSIDY trails behind Letlow, Fleming in Louisiana’s GOP Senate primary:

Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) is falling slightly behind his GOP challengers ahead of Louisiana’s Republican primary, according to a new poll.

The incumbent senator is currently in third place among likely Republican primary voters in the state, according to an Emerson College poll released Thursday.

Louisiana State Treasurer John Fleming (R) received 28 percent of respondents’ support, and Rep. Julia Letlow (R-La.) received 27 percent while Cassidy garnered 21 percent.

Twenty-two percent of the poll’s respondents said they are currently undecided on their vote in the state’s May 16 Republican primary election, which is now less than three weeks away.

President Trump has endorsed Letlow in the race, going against the wishes of GOP congressional leaders.

Cassidy has notably pushed back against the Trump administration on key issues, and he joined six other GOP senators in 2021 in voting to convict Trump for inciting the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol building.

Fleming should drop out. He made his point and he’s 75. Letlow should not have to go through a runoff with Cassidy. Fleming doing another Wesley Hunt is not good for our resources.

If it’s better for our candidates to work harder for the nomination it may make them better but in Cassidy’s case he should drop out. If he finishes 3rd he should do the right thing and quit the next day. I’ve been in favor of some kind of ‘vote of confidence’ for senators in their 4th year primaries. The terms are too long for those that are Manchurian with their own voters. These politicians are too smart and can pull a fast one on voters that have a short attention span.

Cassidy voted to convict Trump in the impeachment trial. He needs to be removed in disgrace.

This is excellent news.

Would be even better if Letlow wasn’t just Cassidy in a dress. Her voting record won’t be (and, in the House, already IS NOT) any better than Cassidy’s.

There is ONE conservative in the Senate race, running in a safe state, against no viable Democrat opposition at all, with zero chance that he would lose in November....

....so by all means, let’s support the female version of Cassidy instead of the proven conservative.

Vote splitting is the GOPe’s most effective weapon to keep Conservatives out. The runoffs are the firewall against the base.

Annnnnnd another RINO is getting flushed down the toilet. The Turtle, Tillis, Cornyn, Cassidy....now let’s hope South Carolina voters have the good sense to vote for Lynch over Lady Lindsey.

That will be a nice haul of Senate RINOs bagged this cycle.

Linda cost us seats when he wanted to nationalize the abortion fight right after the SCOTUS gave it to the states.

If it’s Fleming vs. Letlow in the runoff and Fleming is the conservative perhaps a runoff would be the way to find out if she’s really Cassidy in a dress. Once again it’s the 6 year term factor. Fleming at his age would be ripe for one term while she would be good for at least 2 when they all get stale.

I’m not that good with widows carrying on their deceased husbands’ legacy. Think Mary Bono and the fella that represented south of Monterey Ca. a few years back. Then there’s John Kerry who married a meal ticket upon the death of John Heinz. The rat party got a lot of money out of it.

Beware. I think if he loses in the primary he will pull a Murkowski. She went 3rd party and drew masses of dem voters, the usual eskimos and all RINOs over to her support. That’s how she won vs the tea-party MAGA guy.

“Cassidy torpedoed Casey Means so screw him.”

Cassidy also torpedoed former Republican congressman Dr. Dave Weldon. Weldon was nominated for the Director of the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) is a disaster.

And now he’s running ads boasting about how he and Trump got rid of the Fentanyl threat and other things he and Trump worked on together.
