We’ve now learned about a billion dollars of that cost stems from a reroute around the resting place of Chavez and his wife at the Cesar E. Chavez National Monument in Keene

As a California taxpayer I am somewhat dismayed by this

That should be the exact site for unloading the bathrooms.

A US Senate Transportation Committee revealed that the cost is now projected to be $231 billion — seven times the original estimate.

And still, not a single inch of track has been laid down!

“If you gave away $126 billion to subsidize free flights between LA and San Francisco at current demand levels, you could fund roughly 150 to 200 years of travel before the money runs out.”

Hahahahaha...in the old days, if you took a dump on a train, it simply went into the tracks below (not into some holding tank, or so I am told)

I can just imagine...as you approached the site of the Chavez graves that the train went over, the lines to the toilets would always be...extensive!

What a scumbag. A communist, marxist Leftie who even got a ship named after him is just another typical Leftist they now have to sweep under the rug because of the allegations (almost certainly true) of rape and other sexual assaults against him.

Typical.

'$231 billion — seven times the original estimate'

Has anyone given any kind of explanation of that? Have Californians demanded one?.

Do some searches online about Mr. Chavez. Consider key search terms such as rape and child molestation and sexual abuse.

I was contemplating that while driving across the made in China Bay Bridge this morning. The Bay Bridge crosses the San Francisco Bay between Yerba Buena Island and Oakland. The span replacement took place between 2002 and 2013, and is the most expensive public works project in California history, with a final price tag of $6.5 billion, a 2,500% increase from the original estimate of $250 million

They already know the answer, graft and corporate greed.

California hacks showing their stupidity again.

Just relocate Cesar Chavez gravesite.

But that would take away the kickback cash.

Just a detail. It’s a graft project, not a transportation project. Finishing it would decrease the graft.

That’s why they closed the restrooms when the train was at a station.

I thought he was a serial rapist now. Why don’t they just dig up the grave and move it. No one will care.

America’s socialism is the best because our Federal Reserve can print money and support unlimited debt.

We can have BOTH insane woke politics, and vast, bloated, government at the same time!

I can’t imagine what replacing the Francis Scott Key bridge here in Maryland will cost us, after Moore and the rest of the Democrats finish screwing with it.

And where does this money come from, if original was 33 billion, assume some kind of bonds and grants made that up, where does the rest come from?

Love to see who has received the money spent so far and for what

Yesterday I saw that Moore fired the lead contractor for the Key Bridge replacement project, which has doubled in costs over the past two years.

There’s no high speed rail. There’s not even a need for a high speed rail there.
