Donald Trump has told Iran to 'get their act together' over America's demands to stop its nuclear programme and to 'get smart soon.'
US President shared an AI-generated image of himself wielding a large gun while surrounded by explosions with the caption: 'No more Mr. Nice Guy!'
It was accompanied with a warning to the mullah regime. Trump said: 'Iran can't get their act together. They don't know how to sign a nonnuclear deal. They better get smart soon!'
The price of Brent Crude - the international benchmark for oil - has risen to $115 per barrel as talks to end the Iran war appear to be at a standstill.
Since the early hours of the morning, oil has risen more than 3 per cent. West Texas Intermediate - the US benchmark - has risen to more than $103.
Earlier, Trump reportedly told his team to prepare for an extended blockade of Iran in order to drain the regime's finances.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the US president believes that hurting Tehran's coffers will weaken its leverage in negotiations.
US officials told the newspaper that the blockade is crushing Iran's economy, as the regime struggles to store the surplus of unsold oil it has.
It comes as Trump met with oil and gas executives at the White House yesterday, Axios reported.
Among the attendees was Chevron CEO Mike Wirth. White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were also at the meeting.
A White House official told the media outlet: 'The president meets with energy executives frequently to get their feedback on domestic and international energy markets.'
They added that domestic production, progress in Venezuela, oil futures, natural gas and shipping were all discussed.

More “warning”.

It looks like the Trump admin has grabbed the tar baby.
Just yesterday, Trump said that the Iranians themselves told him that they were in a state of collapse, and were begging him to open the strait.
Sheesh.
That wasn’t meant for us.
But it’s well tailored for the intended audience.
We’re not the ones holding the tar baby.
We don’t have to bomb their refineries to render them useless.
We are waiting for some anti-mine ships to come from Japan. Meanwhile our anti-mining efforts continue. We need 14 days more to take out everything. Lots of Iran’s shore will be rubble.
My take is Trump wants an all-in-one wrap up. 14 days bombing military targets (very soon), then all mines are cleared in another 14 days. Trump wants a neat package for Saudi and Gulf nations and to present for the American elections.
On the backend I expect the Sunni Arab nations, plus Japan, Korea, Taiwan to pay up for at least 40% of our war expenses. Trump will be demanding compensation from those who benefit the most.
Perhaps the President could borrow a rifle from the Secret Service for that picture instead of looking like a complete tool by using AI.
The metro DC $200,000+/year crowd needs to understand that money isn’t everything.
Financial struggles are the norm for tens of millions in the USA, year after year.
The Confederate States of America fought for four years without much in the way of cotton export revenue.
The top dogs of the IRGC probably have nice houses, nice cars, maids, etc. The maids don’t make much and food is mainly domestically produced.
Russian oligarchs still have their mansions and nice cars. Car repair parts have shot up in price, but they can be bought via channels that pass through Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, China, etc.
“We don’t have to bomb their refineries to render them useless.”
We need to bomb the massive onshore pumps that send crude to Kharg. Take them out 20-50% to get the IRGC’s attention. IRGC will have to hang up sign saying - “Yes we have no oil, we have no oil today” for their Chinese customers.
Lets not forget that Merz from churmonee says we look like fools in this. And the lame stream says we’re barely at a tie game here. 🤔🕺
Weakness... They’ll probably respond with a gas pump pricetag or a photo of a 35 dollar steak in Walmart something.
> We need 14 days more to take out everything. <
And to make things even more complicated, the War Powers Resolution kicks in on May 1st. That’s two days from now.
Trump must wind down military operations unless both Houses of Congress vote to allow him to continue. So what will happen if the vote fails in at least one House?
Probably nothing. Previous presidents (both D and R) have ignored that law. And that’s kinda sad. We are supposed to be a nation of laws.
We don’t need to do that to render the refineries inoperable.
No more Mr. Nice Guy intimates that he was previously a nice guy.
“We’re not the ones holding the tar baby.”
The messaging isn’t great. The war that was going to take 4-6 weeks is dragging on with no clear end in sight because you can’t negotiate with dishonest, crazy people.
It seems this action was necessary given Iran’s activities in the region. The American public isn’t smart, and isn’t patient. My concern is about the mid terms.
Remember Weimar, dennisw.
What “14 days”?
SEC. 3. The President in every possible instance shall consult with Congress
before introducing United States Armed Forces into hostilities
or into situations where imminent involvement in hostilities is clearly indicated by the circumstances,
and after every such introduction shall consult regularly with the Congress
until United States Armed Forces are no longer engaged in hostilities or have been removed from such situations.
REPORTING
SEC. 4. (a) In the absence of a declaration of war, in any case in which United States Armed Forces are introduced—
(1) into hostilities or into situations where imminent involvement in hostilities is clearly indicated by the circumstances;
(2) into the territory, airspace or waters of a foreign nation, while equipped for combat, except for deployments which relate
solely to supply, replacement, repair, or training of such forces; or
(3) in numbers which substantially enlarge United States Armed Forces equipped for combat already located in a foreign nation;
the President shall submit within 48 hours to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and to the President pro tempore of the Senate a report, in writing, setting forth—
(A) the circumstances necessitating the introduction of United States Armed Forces;
(B) the constitutional and legislative authority under which such introduction took place; and
(C) the estimated scope and duration of the hostilities or involvement.
(b) Within sixty calendar days after a report is submitted or is required to be submitted pursuant to section 4(a)(1), whichever is earlier,
the President shall terminate any use of United States Armed Forces with respect to which such report was submitted (or required to be submitted),
unless the Congress
(1) has declared war or has enacted a specific authorization for such use of United States Armed Forces,
(2) has extended by law such sixty-day period, or
(3) is physically unable to meet as a result of an armed attack upon the United States.
Such sixty-day period shall be extended for not more than an additional thirty days
if the President determines and certifies to the Congress in writing
that unavoidable military necessity respecting the safety of United States Armed Forces
requires the continued use of such armed forces in the course of bringing about a prompt removal of such forces.

The 62-day clock is running out. Ceasefires don’t slow or stop it.
As with the 150-day tariff, Trump only gets one multi-day period to act under existing law.
“extended for not more than an additional thirty days...in the course of bringing about a prompt removal of such forces
