Ukrainian President Zelenskyy hits Israel over accepting Russia’s ‘stolen’ grain shipment
The Washington Times ^ | April 28, 2026 | Vaughn Cockayne

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday accused Israel of accepting Russian shipments filled with stolen Ukrainian grain.

Mr. Zelenskyy has for years accused Russia of harvesting grain from agricultural centers it occupies in eastern Ukraine, aiming to make a steady profit during the war. Russia has denied Ukraine’s allegations.

“Another vessel carrying such grain has arrived at a port in Israel and is preparing to unload,” Mr. Zelensky posted on X. “The Israeli authorities cannot be unaware of which ships are arriving at the country’s ports and what cargo they are carrying.”

Mr. Zelenskyy was referring to the vessel Panormitis, which is allegedly carrying grain from occupied Ukraine and is awaiting docking in Haifa, Israel.

“What an a**.”

His complaint is with Russia, not Israel. Israel paid for a received grain from Russia. If the grain was stolen, that’s in question. If Russia is paying for it and not taking it away from the farmers, we don’t know that, then it is a legitimate business transaction and not even a spoils of war issue. So a** issue is with the farmers or the Russians in the territory, not Israel.

---- "Bro? That's my grain."

Interesting. One finds "Vessel PANORMITIS (IMO 8509038, MMSI 241679000) is a General Cargo Ship built in 1985 and currently sailing under the flag of Greece."

And one finds that the EU -- Greece is in the EU -- has entered the fray. Because the article says "Panama-flagged."

"The European Union has warned Israel that it is ready to impose sanctions on those aiding and abetting the trade of Ukrainian grain stolen by Russia in the occupied territories, after a new ship loaded with the cereal arrived in the city of Haifa.

" 'The EU has taken note of the reports that a Russian shadow fleet vessel carrying stolen Ukrainian grain has been allowed to unload at Haifa port in Israel, despite previous contacts of Ukraine with Israeli authorities on the subject,' a European Commission spokesperson told Euronews."

EU 'ready' to sanction Israel over Russian vessel carrying stolen Ukrainian grain Euronews via MSN, 28 April 2026.

Greek. Panamanian. Russian stealth. Ukrainian. Israeli. And now getting the attention of the Estonian.

It's getting complicated. Becasue "Spain, Ireland and Slovenia are among those calling for punitive action in response to the deadly strikes on Lebanese cities. However, Germany and Italy remain on the fence, and their support would be key for the qualified majority needed to partially suspend the pact."

Lebanon? Oh, yeah. Them too.

The grain was on Russian controlled areas....

I'll give you 1000 to 1...that Russia paid for it.

Yes that’s highly likely, since most of that territory has been occupied since 2002. The wheat cycle is less than a year so the Russians would have had to sow it.

Russia has denied Ukraine’s allegations.

Translation: Ukraine is 100% right and Putin is lying his ass off.

OK, but Russia has occupied eastern Ukraine several years so that must mean the Russians actually sowed the grain.

An American soldier went to Afghanistan for several deployment amounting to several years. He was the only resident of his house. A squatter took over his house for a couple of years and made improvements to the house. The squatter also sold some furniture he didn't like.

Since the squatter occupied the house for a couple years before the soldier came back, was the squatter legally the owner of the house and/or the furniture and improvements he made.

Russia had no right to be in Ukrainian territory and no right to sow and sell anything that took place in Ukraine, no matter how long Russia occupied the land. The grown grain belonged to Ukraine, and the Russians who might have done the agricultural labor, should be regarded as just employees of the rightful land-owners, even if those 'employees' were there illegally.

That's baloney!

Anything grown in Ukraine, is Ukraine's, unless permitted by Ukraine, which it was NOT.

You used the correct word, 'occupied', meaning it was NOT Russian land. Therefore, whether 2002 or 2022, whatever was grown in Ukraine, belonged to Ukraine. Occupying land or even a house, does not mean that you own it and can do whatever you wish with it.

People here are trying too hard to justify and rationalize the illegal things Russia has done in Ukraine.

Calm down man, I didn’t support the Russian invasion, I’m just talking about how things work. How is this the fault of Israel?

Careful how you speak of him. Putin has been known to have people assassinated, by various means. Try not to look over your shoulder, Putin's men might be gaining on you.

I wonder if the Russians even planted it. Did all the Ukrainian farmers leave the areas, or did they plant it and the Russians stole it from them? Zelensky, of course is a clown and an idiot, but a lot of the people in Ukraine aren’t like that. Most of the farmers there probably aren’t. I don’t know.

Calm down man,

Use your head, man. I didn't mention Israel in any of my posts and just named Russia dn Ukraine.

But, Israel should have a conscience regarding who sold them the grain, and should keep in mind that Ukraine and Israel have a common set of enemies, and as such, Israel should not be assisting Russia with funding the war effort against Ukraine.

I didn’t support the Russian invasion,

If you justify or rationalize anything Russia does which hurts Ukraine, then you are in support of Russia, even if indirectly. The people who import drugs into the U.S. did not kill the victims from use of those drugs, so, they try to rationalize that, they had nothing to do with the murders, since they didn't directly sell the drugs to the victims. Duh!

I’m just talking about how things work.

When the initial action which triggers everything that follows was illegal, all that transpires after the illegal action is also illegal and morally wrong.

If something was illegal, then nothing afterward can be justified. It's not how things work in normal societies. Wrong is wrong, no matter how much time has transpired since the initial wrong.

How is this the fault of Israel?

Israel is MORALLY wrong by accepting things that were done illegally and which hurt a country fighting for its life against a tyrannical regime. Russia is the Iran to Ukraine. .

Your links are always garbage. Stop being so dense and clueless. Russia is NOT capturing any new territory in Ukraine and even if they do capture a few yards of territory, the Russian advance is immediately undone and ALL of the troops are immediately turned into Ukraine ground fertilizer.

Russia has no hope whatsoever in Ukraine. It lost the war FOUR years ago.

Begone! Troll.
