Sens. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., all voted against a modified version of the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act early Thursday morning.
Their defection came during the Senate’s marathon "vote-a-rama," where lawmakers could force votes on any number of amendments, regardless of whether they mesh with the underlying budget blueprint.

Can’t depend on the Repulsicans.
Guess we’ll have to just wait for CW-II to settle the issue.
Had the SAVE America Act been attached to a funding bill, it would have been axed by the courts. They need to pass it on its own. Make the Slave Party “debate” on it 24-7. Show them for who they are.
“Republicans fail...”
I dont know for sure, but usually when the party leader votes against something, it is so it can be brought back up again later.
There. fixed it: Sens. Thom Tillis, U-N.C., Lisa Murkowski, U-Alaska, Susan Collins, U-Maine, and Mitch McConnell, U-Ky.
U = Uniparty.
Not by the courts, but by the Senate Parliamentarian. It was purely a political gesture to try to attach it to the spending bill. Everyone knew it would fail, But were voting for it just so they could claim to their constituents that they did. A waste of time.
Crazy that somehow they always seem to find a way to attach the important bills like Ukraine funding, Israel funding, war funding, Patriot Act renewal, Obamacare, etc... to must pass bills but when it comes to things that actually have huge support and help the American people....nope.
We have been abandoned.
Unfortunately, I think that this country needs another civil war. Americans vs Deep State, globalists, etc
Yep...
I can’t believe no right-thinking Republican doesn’t have some dirt on these scumbags - dirty pichers, booze, cheating on spouses - hell hire a PI and then we’ll have another vote.
It’s a shame the time of caning members of Congress seems to have passed, and I guess hoping for someone to be waiting in a dark parking garage or having a Harry Reid treadmill accident would be wrong...

Mitch McConnell (R-KY): 41 years in the senate.
Susan Collins (R-ME): 29 years in the senate.
Lisa Murkowski (R-AK): 23 years in the senate.
Thom Tillis (R-NC): 11 years in the senate.
They didn’t fail; they intentionally left it off the package.

Which side are you going to be on,
Could have just stopped at “Republican fail...”
Every. Damn. Time.
This is an outrage, and when the GOP pays for it it’s hard to feel bad over it. Sadly it’ll open the floodgates to evils we’ve had and more we can’t even imagine.
John Thune, a rino to the bone.
You are correct. This has been going on for so long I'd forgotten.
Those traitors are why I do not have faith in the rino party, most of them are gutless and do not support our President
As of March 2026, polling data indicates that 71% of Americans support the SAVE America Act, including 69% of independents and half of rank-and-file Democrats. Additionally, 81% favor requiring voter ID, and 75% support proof of citizenship to vote.
