Voters are in the Virginia polls, choosing yes or no on a constitutional amendment that could sway four seats in the U.S. House of Representatives come November.
New congressional redistricting maps were ignited by second-term Republican Donald Trump’s pressure onto Texas in 2025. Thus far, redraws have given hope for Republicans to gain three seats; Virginia could change that to a one seat deficit.
The state has six Democrats and five Republicans in the House, and if the amendment passes would be forecast to reach a 10-1 edge. In the last statewide presidential vote of 2024, Democrat Kamala Harris edged Trump 51.8%-46.1%. ***
Presented to voters for a yes or no is, “Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia’s standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?”
If yes wins, the General Assembly – Democrats have majorities in the Senate and House of Delegates, and occupy the governor's seat – has responsibility and already has a map presented and in litigation. ***
New maps are in play for the 2026 elections in California, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio and Texas. Litigation has also led to changes in Utah and remains ongoing in Georgia, Louisiana and New York.
In the last election, Republicans won a 220-215 majority; today, it’s 217-213 with one independent and four vacancies.
****Republicans have potential for a net gain of three seats. California has the potential to flip five seats to Democrats for a 48-4 representation for the party and Utah one to Democrats cutting into Republicans’ 4-0 representation. For Republicans, Missouri (to 7-1) and North Carolina (to 11-3) could gain one seat each; Ohio two (to 12-3); and Texas five (to 30-7).

Who is against fairness? Fairness, of course, being anything that favors the Democrats while marginalizing and eventually excluding the Republicans.
The campaign for the measure has outspent the opposition 4 to 1.
That said, it looks like eventually district lines will become battle lines. On that front, I’d say it favors the Republicans.
No kidding! “...temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness”
And “temporarily” — sure. NOTHING the government does is ever temporary.
They stole the 2025 election, this one too is already in the bag.
This morning on Fox & Friends, it was reported the lefty scum have placed signs in Republican areas that read “Trump says vote YES”
Gee Imagine that, a lying, lowlife, scummy bunch of cheating democraps.
Come ON Virginia, turn out the red NO vote on this. Otherwise you’re shooting yourself in the foot and cheating the rest of us outside VA. UGH.
Just voted. The amendment wording is insane. “Should we amend… TO RESTORE FAIRNESS…”
The implication of the wording is just amazing.
Darn! Should have read your comment before posting mine!
However this is going to play out we all know there will be no fairness in this vote. By the time they are counted a certain will already have the fix in, and it will be “VIRGINIA FOR ETERNAL DEMOCRATS (ACTUALLY COMMUNISTS)

I was number 540 of 2,500 registered voters at 11 a.m. I don’t normally go to vote at that time of day — constant flow of people, and all the “booths” were occupied. Didn’t take long to answer the lone question on the ballot. Over a million early voters for this, I heard.
Walked over to the polling place to cast my vote . At high noon there was a trickle of voters. There were more poll workers than voters.
In years past if there was were going to be a crowd, it was typically in the morning ,people voting before going to work.
Call 2 people (at least) - get them to call two people each, and so on...
TURNOUT IS KEY!!!!
Has this been advertised a lot? Do many people realize there is an election today?
TURNOUT IS KEY
Democrat vote turnout is almost constant. All elections are decided on Republican turnout.
The Guardian wrote, “with nearly more than 1.37m ballots cast in early voting.”
What does “nearly more than” mean? Just say it was less than 1.37 — or more than 1.36. That’s the second time I’ve seen that phrase in a week.
Anyway, there were 1.8 million early votes in November 2024.
I’m hoping that gun owners will turn out in large numbers as a symbolic protest against Spanberger’s new gun laws.
Hoping for the best, but VA gets worse every year it seems.
The dems won in 2025 because of a less than stellar republican candidate and lying by the democrats. Too many Republicans stayed home.
Early ED turnout in Virginia is showing concerning signs for Dems. Several key blue areas (Fredericksburg, Fairfax, Petersburg, and Falls Church) are way behind their 2025 levels.
Loudoun and PWC are holding up slightly better, but still not great. Red counties solid. https://t.co/sscJ7r5HPi— Zachary Donnini (@ZacharyDonnini) April 21, 2026
I thought the DemonRATS in Virginia left their “polls” open 24/7/365 all year long in case they decide they need an emergency “special election”.
I thought the DemonRATS in Virginia left their “polls” open 24/7/365 all year long in case they decide they need an emergency “special election”. Wow! Watching the news has got me believing the camel jockeys are on course to take over the U.S. Goodbye America! All the illegals will be losing their choice to speak English or Mexican. They’ll gonna have to speak like a muzzie or be executed.
The wording is so misleading that it could and should rightly be tossed by the VA Supreme Court. And it is being challenged in 3 separate cases. A lower court already ruled in favor of the plaintiffs, but the state’s high court has allowed the vote to move forward while withholding a final decision.
