EXCELLENT!
Dey’s a whole lotta new tab openin’ goin’ on around here.
If the OEM’s won’t sell or share their tech data then you can open all the factories you want and they will still not be able to manufacture any proprietary equipment.
You see that little building down there? In WW2 three out of five US bombers rolled off that line. You think Roosevelt beat Hitler? Think again. This isn't the first time Ford Motor's gone to war in Europe.
GM built tanks in Detroit during WWII
I bet they could build useful missiles on assembly lines.
Great. They can’t build cars correctly and now they’re going to build weapons.
That was my thought too. They can build tanks. But modern weaponry, forget that. Better off asking Tesla, they can quickly build factories and expedite new technology. Imagine humanoid robots with AI directing firing guns and grenades, built within the year without cost overruns.
Chrysler was a major producer of missiles-and also air raid sirens using Hemi engines.
Despite the liberals screeching we
are at war.
The rate at which American military can
execute a war is un-precedented.
War is no longer millions of men
running across
fields slaughtering each other.
It is “Asymmetric”
eg a lack of proportion.
4 guys in one airplane can render
a thousand missiles unusable.
Missiles are still functional,
but can’t be launched.
Our problem is this;
Our industry can do it, but years
of Democrat policy and regulations has
eliminated it’s ability to be “nimble”.
We can’t ramp up quickly.
Kind of like WWII, German army could
execute its missions, but it outran
it’s supply line speed.
Our military quickly outran the Democrat
DEI throttled industries ability
to support them.
Anti war Americans have been working
on this for years.
I went to university with them.
I know what 1+0 and what 1*0 equals.
1 and 0 respectively.
Democrats think it means whatever
they wish for.
Well, nobody can afford cars anyway....
The M1 Abrams is built by General Dynamics Land Systems which was split off from Chrysler in 1982. It's a subsidiary of General Dynamics which build weapons, jets, and ships, including nuclear submarines.
The Arsenal of Democracy: FDR, Detroit, and an Epic Quest to Arm an America at War.
A 2014 non-fiction book by A.J. Baime that chronicles Detroit’s transformation during WWII, focusing on Ford Motor Company’s role in building the Willow Run bomber plant.
I would love to be a supplier using my small machine shop but union thugs would kick me out of competing. I did one secret prototype for a contractor and that’s the only way I was shielded from the union. I could make parts faster and cheaper for small runs but I doubt I could get in it again.
Non sequitur...
“I bet they could build useful missiles on assembly lines.”

Cheap attack drones, by the millions.
If a private company comes up with the design on its own, it has every incentive to cut costs and design with ease of manufacturing in mind.
