Eric Swalwell’s hotshot attorney has come out swinging after a bombshell new rape claim was leveled at the former congressman. Sara Azari took to the airwaves late Tuesday saying “regret is not rape,” pushing the idea the politician’s alleged victims were just ashamed by any sexual activity they had.
She launched a staunch defense of him and praised his “tremendous amount of accountability” for stepping down amid the scandal. She told NewsNation: “The fact that, you know, a day later, years later, or whatnot, you maybe had shame around what you did, or maybe you were in a relationship and shouldn’t have done what you did, doesn’t make it rape.”
She continued: “I think it demonstrates a tremendous amount of accountability, not because he’s done these things and he’s stepping down, but because how could he properly defend himself and represent his constituency with these serious allegations pending,” Azari told NewsNation. “So he couldn’t be able to do his job properly, and it was the right thing to do.”

Leftists like Swalwell and Baldoni don’t want to live by the rules they force on other men.
AS A WOMAN-—SHE SHOULD KNOW BETTER
Yeah believe all women until they accuse a rat.
Then why did he quit?
And of course he hires a female lawyer to defend him.
Lawyer or backhoe operator?
Keep digging! I’ll bet there are more women yet to come. Those who have so far seem eminently credible.
Why is it a drunk ass guy gets nailed to the wall for his actions regardless of age,
but a drunk ass adult woman is “Manipulated”,
raped, or otherwise abused?
FAFO should apply to both sexes.
He can’t afford the lawyer fees...he’s taking it out in trade...
What happened to ‘Believe Women’?
At most I would agree with Swalwell’s lawyer that the timing of all these allegations becoming suddenly public is highly suspicious and lends credence to the idea that it is all orchestrated, and, one after the other, a good many of the allegations may in fact be as she suggests - regrets that the women knowingly got sexually involved with Swalwell.
Cane him, and then cane her.
Wait, according to Democrats, we are always supposed to believe the woman.
He was fine with getting protected for his criminal behavior, now he's complaining when his privilege is gone.
Regret is that statement.
“Eric Swalwell’s hotshot attorney has come out swinging after a bombshell new rape claim was leveled at the former congressman. Sara Azari”. Were you involved too Sara?
Ethics committee testimony can be used against him..
Yes. But the timing of it all suggests something more is behind it, and all five of the women were fine living with their allegations - until now. It’s suspicious.
