Two high-profile Democrats on Sunday called for Rep. Eric Swalwell to exit Congress as controversy continues to grow after sexual assault allegations surfaced against the California candidate for governor.
Eugene Vindman said Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union" that Swalwell should resign from Congress and drop out of California's gubernatorial race.
"The accusations are absolutely heinous, and his admissions betraying his family are deplorable," Vindman said to host Dana Bash. "So Eric Swalwell needs to resign. He needs to drop out of the race… we should not tolerate this behavior, and Representative Swalwell needs to go."
Vindman made the remarks during a panel discussion on the broadcast, as CNN political commentators, Davis Urban, Kristen Soltis Anderson and Jamal Simmons debated how party leadership should respond to the allegations and whether Swalwell should remain in Congress while facing scrutiny.
Bash pressed Vindman on whether his call extended beyond the campaign trail to Swalwell’s congressional seat.
"Yes," Vindman said.
Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., echoed similar concerns during a Sunday appearance on "Meet the Press," framing the allegations as part of a broader pattern and calling for accountability.

Rumor has it that Swalwell has reached out and tried to hire Hillary to run interference and attack his accusers.
Billy Boy and Hillary took one look at the small Swalwell stash of $$$, and declined to assist.

TWO Dems out of how many..this is about the Governors race, I say people should vote for Swalwell to screw the Dems over, they want him out so badly, screw that, people should vote for him, split the vote, help the Republicans. For the left, NOTHING is worse than a Republican winning the California Governors race, because Hilton would uncover ALL THE FRAUD, how illegals get freebies, how Dem donors get a large chunk of cash, ALL OF IT

my only thought is Dems figured GOP would have part or all of this info, and would use it.
Even with the entire California electoral-manipulation apparatus behind him, in a fairly close race, there is no way they could drag him over the finish line without it looking like an election in Saddam's Iraq or North Korea.

Steyer is an extremely rich old man - but he looks more like a kingmaker than a candidate. They cant be dumb enough to think Katie Porker will ever appeal to anybody outside of feminist book clubs. Xavier Becerra seems to be the likely beneficiary of white boy Swalwell's downfall - he's just the type of Trump-hating "professional Mexican" the party likes to gift high profile jobs to.
If they can clear the others out and get Steyer to put his financial backing behind Becerra, they'll have the Governor's mansion in the bag - again.
Or is it all "He said-she said" that we are just supposed to believe?
I'm not saying he's innocent, but there are other congresspersons who got away with more, and didn't lose their jobs.

My guess is, they know more will come out and he can’t survive, so the sooner the better.

They are not democratic reps, they are Democrat reps.
Despite what the dictionary might say, the adjective for Democrat politicians, Democrat policies and Democrat voters is “Democrat”, not “democratic”.
The adjective “democratic” is already taken - it describes all things pertaining to democracy, and that certainly excludes Democrats - who routinely lie and cheat to circumvent the democratic process.
I had the same feeling. There are so many detestable people in Kalifornia it’s almost like they are another Iran, Cuba or N Korea.

The DNC wants Steyer. They know Steyer could beat stinkface Katie Porter but they’re not sure Porter could beat a Republican in a one on one race. So they had to dispose of Swalwell to clear the path for Steyer.
