Despite President Donald Trump winning on the promise of “mass deportations,” a handful of spineless Republicans, alongside Democrats, are trying to push a mass amnesty act known as the DIGNIDAD Act — or, for English speakers, the DIGNITY Act.
The legislation is billed as not being amnesty, but would give millions of illegal aliens — both so-called DREAMers/DACA and non-DREAMers/DACA — a legal status. But co-sponsor Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar, R-Fla., insists it’s not amnesty, so much so that she’s screaming at people on X to “READ. THE. BILL. BEFORE. YOU. OPEN. YOUR. MOUTH.”
So I read the bill.
And frankly, it might be worse than just amnesty.
Student Loan Forgiveness For Lawyers Who Provide Legal Services To Illegals
According to a “Section-by-Section Analysis” of the DIGNITY Act by Salazar and Veronica Escobar, D-Texas, the legislation creates a special loan forgiveness program for lawyers who provide legal services to illegal aliens at “Humanitarian Campuses.” “Humanitarian campuses” would be new facilities where illegal aliens get processed. Lawyers who complete four years of full-time service get 75% of their outstanding law school loans forgiven.
In other words, Americans will have to pay for lawyers to keep illegal aliens here.
Importation Of Illegal Aliens Who Had Already Been Deported
The legislation also opens the door for aliens who were previously deported to come back to the United States and seek relief if they would otherwise qualify under the legislation.

If they grant amnesty, the Republican party and the country will be dead. They will vote for the free stuff party. That is how the country they came from became such a sh*thole. For any Republican to not recognize this means either they are a plant or too stupid to hold office.
I actually like the idea of ammnesty for those with no pending warrants - 90 days to pay any owed taxes and liquidate any assets you cannot take with you and leave and we won’t prosecute.
That screams of quid pro quo or bribe bought legislation. She needs investigated immediately.
No, we tried it in the 80s and promised we would never be here again and yet here we are. It does not work.

Gather every illegal and deport him. THEY. ARE. CRIMINALS. They are stealing medical and educational resources from AMERICAN children. Since most receive government assistance, THEY. ARE. STEALING from us, the taxpayers.
I’ll clarify - for those with warrants - they all get deported after serving any sentences.
For those without warrants - please reread my original sentence - they all get deported.

Dignity? What dignity is there leaving your own country to illegal leech off the tax payers of another. Deport them all. Then start deporting the supporters of the invasion of third world crime and corruption.
We had an amnesty under Reagan. The idea was to amnesty 2 or 3 million people, then secure the border so no more would come in, thus solving the problem. It didn’t work the way it was intended, it only got worse. Way worse.
Reagan’s amnesty let people stay - what i proposed DOES NOT.
And, we already have an amnesty for people who have been here since childhood, the “dream act”. Again, it hasn’t solved the bigger problem.
I only read the first half of what you wrote. My mistake. But I think in line with FR tradition. :)
Thank God this will go nowhere, at least while Trump is in office.
