ActBlue May Have Misled Congress on Vetting Foreign Donations, Its Lawyers Warned
NYT ^ | Aptil 2, 2026 | Reid J. Epstein and Shane Goldmacher

Posted on 04/05/2026 7:24:36 AM PDT by libstripper

This article is based on internal legal memos, emails, resignation letters, Slack messages and interviews with current and former ActBlue employees.

In early 2025, a law firm working for ActBlue, the Democratic fund-raising behemoth, delivered the organization a startling warning.

The firm concluded that ActBlue’s chief executive had given a potentially misleading response to congressional Republican investigators in a 2023 letter explaining how the organization vetted donations to ensure that they were not illegally coming from foreign citizens.

The letter from the chief executive, Regina Wallace-Jones, said ActBlue carried out “multilayered” screenings of contributions that helped “root out” those from overseas. In fact, the law firm found, some of the steps she had described were not always followed.

“This presents a substantial risk for ActBlue,” the law firm, Covington & Burling, wrote in one of two memos expressing legal concerns. One memo raised the specter of a criminal investigation if prosecutors believed that ActBlue had tried to conceal facts about its efforts to prevent foreign contributions.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

WOW!!! As a reired lawyer, I am astounded that those two memos ever even got out, since they were obviously privileged. The article shows that ActBlue and many of its highest executives along with many DemonRats who have been supported by it are at extreme legal risk for things like money laundering and campaign finance violations. Also looks like OUR PRESIDENT TRUMP has turned the highest levels of the DOJ loose on them.

So one newsworthy item in this story is that its in the New York Times. ActBlue is trying to get ahead of a really bad story by bringing bad news to a friendly news organization that will spin it as charitably as possible. What this means is that the real story is much, much worse.

Regina Wallace-Jones, CEO and President of ActBlue, another DEI black woman exposed as an incompetent fraud. No doubt a pretty penny went into her pocket. The list gets longer everyday.

Here is an example of ACTBLUE’s conduct as illustrated on the FEC website. (Search criteria: same donor’s name, zip code, and recipient, ActBlue)

Right.

“ActBlue May Have...”

If it were a conservative org the headline would have screamed of illegalities, hints of conspiracies with all Republican leaders and lots of quotes from Democrats about how Republicans just can’t do democracy.

Even more astounding is that the NYT is reporting this! You know something is afoot when the NYT reports bad news to progressive causes. They are probably implicated somehow.

That’s an interesting take, ActBlue trying to get ahead of it by having NYT report it in as friendly a way possible.

My thought was that the NYT is covering their own guilty asses somehow.
