Retired Air Force Brig. Gen. Blaine Holt said Friday on Newsmax that he expects positive news overnight on the recovery of the downed U.S. weapons systems officer from an F-15E Strike Eagle brought down by Iranian fire. Holt, appearing on "Rob Schmitt Tonight," called the officer's status "the most important issue." "Our downed weapon system officer, who I think, and I'm hearing it from a couple of directions now, but this is not confirmation by any stretch, but I think we're going to get some good news. I think we're going to find out overnight that we've got our weapons systems officer back," Holt said.
He added that the information "remains to be confirmed by the professionals" and noted, "I'm a general who makes a lot of telephone calls" to gather the facts. The comments came as Iran downed a U.S. F-15E fighter jet over its territory, with one crew member rescued and the other still missing amid an ongoing search and rescue operation...

I agree. I am surprised we haven’t found him yet. He has to be within a mile or two of where they found the ejection seat.
Some news accounts say he has been picked up and safe.
The ejection seat shown by iranian media is not an ACES II seat. The top of the seatback is not right.
You would expect the WSO to be in the proximity to where the pilot was recovered. SERE training would tell him to remain concealed during the day. We own the night.
6:00am local time, Moon was near full last night which I presume would hinder nighttime air support. Getting anxious.

I remember how the politics changed in Vietnam after the NVA began accumulating pilots.
We lost an A-10 and two choppers were hit during the first rescue. We must be setting up a perimeter around the 2nd pilot, before rescue occurs - JMHO

The F-15 has 1 pilot and 1 weapons officer.

My guess is that they know where he is because of the beacon/signalling, but he may be inaccessible from the air. That could because of injuries or because of the terrain. That then suggests the possibility of a ground team being inserted to get to his location to assist/recover, though that obviously would take some time and is dangerous.
That at least would explain why neither side yet has him. It is simply going to take time, and perhaps some fighting, to get to his location.
If the 2nd pilot was safe we would be hearing it everywhere..til we have confirmation I will hold off on celebrating, I have been praying hard all day for this pilot to be found safe. He has all the training to hide out so its all a matter of picking him up and getting him outta there
Been hearing for hours that supposedly there is encrypted radio contact so they know he is alive not sure if thats true or not
