Pam Bondi Responds to News of Her Ouster
Red State ^ | 04/02/2026 | Teri Christoph

Outgoing Attorney General Pam Bondi took to X Thursday afternoon to offer her first comments since the news of her ouster was made public earlier in the day, saying she'll be "working tirelessly" over the next month to "transition the office of Attorney General to the amazing Todd Blanche."

As RedState's Susie Moore previously reported, President Trump announced Bondi's departure as the federal government's chief law enforcement officer in a Truth Social post earlier Thursday. He wrote that "Pam Bondi is a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend, who faithfully served as my Attorney General over the past year," adding, "We love Pam, and she will be transitioning to a much needed and important new job in the private sector, to be announced at a date in the near future."

In her own social media post, Bondi revealed she'd be "moving to an important private sector role I am thrilled about, and where I will continue fighting for President Trump and this Administration." Details have yet to emerge what that private sector job might entail.

Over the next month I will be working tirelessly to transition the office of Attorney General to the amazing Todd Blanche before moving to an important private sector role I am thrilled about, and where I will continue fighting for President Trump and this Administration.

Leading President Trump’s historic and highly successful efforts to make America safer and more secure has been the honor of a lifetime, and easily the most consequential first year of the Department of Justice in American history.

Since February 2025, we have secured the lowest murder rate in 125 years, secured first-ever terrorism convictions against members of Antifa, shattered domestic and transnational gangs across the country, taken custody of more than 90 key cartel figures, and won 24 favorable rulings at the Supreme Court.

I remain eternally grateful for the trust that President Trump placed in me to Make America Safe Again.

Bondi's top aide at the Department of Justice, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, will serve as acting AG upon her departure. There is no word yet on when Bondi's last day in office will be, but it looks like she'll still be expected to testify before Congress on her handling of the Epstein files.

Pam Bondi will soon leave her job as the Attorney General.

My subpoena still stands. When the Oversight Committee moved to subpoena Bondi, I did it by name, not by or not as the sitting Attorney General of the U.S.

In the meantime, speculation is running rampant that Lee Zeldin, the former congressman from New York who is currently administrator of the EPA, is the favorite to permanently replace Bondi.

She spared the President a lot of confirmation drama. I remember being on FR when Matt Gaetz was announced to be Trump’s initial pick.

Speaking of Matt Gaetz, he has disagreements with the President from his commentary perch: regarding Iran among other things...

If the Epstein Files weren’t a thing...and it’s not exactly her fault that it IS a thing...she would have had it easier...

“But a ground invasion of Iran will make our country poorer and less safe,” he continued. “It will mean higher gas prices, higher food prices, and I’m not sure we’d end up killing more terrorists than we would create.”

- Matt Gaetz (who Pam Bondi replaced) at CPAC 2026

Bondi was also AG of Florida, respected enough by GOP elite, and friends with Susie Wiles.

Matt Gaetz was Trump’s top pick. But as I posted above, even if he didn’t have all the baggage and got confirmed - he and Trump would have run into policy disagreements. (Gaetz is against Iran War and stuff like that causes friction even if AG doesn’t deal with that.)

Pam Bondi doesn't have kids, but she has a long time partner.

That brief appointment was probably to give him a reason to immediately resign to make it look like that was why he resigned instead of the scandal.

I don’t know that, of course, but given how he immediately resigned upon the announcement of his appointment and how quickly the nomination was yanked that just looks like it was done as a face saving move.

Forgive me, but because she was one of the first nominees to the cabinet, I ended up researching Bondi and learned a lot...But yes she’s been married several times before, no children, and her current partner is John Wakefield.

I actually feel bad for her, and that her name is unfairly tainted due to having to cater solely to Trump and taking on his baggage - and not really get to name for herself on her terms. But alas...

She was clearly in her element as Florida AG - but her record is not as hyper-partisan as you may think. Republicans would be weary of her positions on:

- Stricter Gun Laws after Parkland Shooting.
- Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case.

Filing avalanches of lawsuits against leftist scummers?

I guess we'll see soon enough.

Exactly. A guy being attracted to attractive women is…. natural.

Bondi’s appointment / dismissal has nothing to do with that.

The real issue is that President Trump was elected by MAGA on an anti-corruption platform and the world is deeply corrupted from top to bottom.

The MAGA base (me included) naively hoped that if President Trump could…

- overcome the stolen 2020 election
- beat the bogus indictments
- get himself reelected,
- choose his own cabinet
- control both chambers of Congress

…that the entire political establishment would shift 180° in our favor and that it would be us putting them in jail instead of them putting us back n jail.

Unfortunately, there was no 180° polar shift in our favor…. the corruption remains, continues to metastasize - at best dormant - awaiting the return of a more accommodating Democrat administration - or at worst - still alive and festering.

This is not President Trump’s fault, or Bondi’s, or Patel’s…. it’s just that everything is even worse in DC than many of us had thought - and Team Trump is between a rock and a hard place.

Trump if anything, got rid of Pam because she wouldn’t let Epstein go.

The next AG won’t touch it.
