Trump tells Erika Kirk to 'sue' critics who have defamed her since husband's assassination: Report

President Donald Trump reportedly told Erika Kirk Wednesday to "sue" the critics who have defamed her since her husband's assassination last year.

Erika Kirk took over her late-husband Charlie Kirk's Turning Point USA foundation as CEO and chair after he was fatally shot at a rally in Utah last September, but critics have heavily attacked the widow on social media since the shooting.

Trump made the suggestion during a speech at the White House Easter lunch, when he spotted her at a table.

"Hello, darling! Wow. There’s a good table. I like that table," Trump said, according to the Daily Wire. "You’re doing well, right? I think you should sue ‘em. I told her, ‘You oughta sue some of these’ — They’re so jealous of Erika. I said, ‘You oughta sue their ... ass off.”

The comment comes after Erika Trump admitted in December that she had reached her "breaking point" over conspiracy theories regarding her husband's assassination, and such theories have even led to death threats against her family.

“Call me what you want, go down that rabbit hole, whatever," Kirk told Fox News. "When you go after my family, my Turning Point USA family, my ‘Charlie Kirk Show’ family, when you go after the people that I love and you’re making hundreds and thousands of dollars every single episode going after the people that I love, because somehow they’re in on this? No.

Well, will Can Dance call Joe Lent as a supporting witness?

She can start with this black "comedian" who thought it was hilarious to put on "White Face" and imitate this young widow of two little children:

"Comedian Druski, whose real name is Drew Desbordes, created a viral skit impersonating Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, in a video titled 'How Conservative Women in America act.'"

Imagine the utter outrage if the races had been reversed and Erica Kirk put on black face to mock a young black widow with two little children.

There is something satisfying about having your enemies fund the very organization and people they hate.

Candace has conducted a savage and relentless attack on Erika Kirk. I hope there is a lawsuit, the truth needs to be aired. TPUSA needs it.

I listened to Candace Owens a few weeks ago attacking Erika Kirk. Owens stated that Erika Kirk did not play for a college women’s basketball team that the latter claimed and that Kirk was a descendant of the legendary football coach Vince Lombardi. At that point, I decided Owens’ attacks were not worth my time.

“When you go after my family, my Turning Point USA family, my ‘Charlie Kirk Show’ family, when you go after the people that I love and you’re making hundreds and thousands of dollars every single episode going after the people that I love”

It reminds me of the Alex Jones case.

Yes, there's a hypocritical double standard. But blacks have been doing whiteface since the 1980s. It's nothing new.

However, Erika has no case against this comedian. She's a public figure, and comics are free to satirize public figures. And that's as it should be.

As for a defamation case against Candace, I don't know if Erika has a case. Maybe, maybe not.

She won’t sue. She knows better.

I used to listen to Candace occasionally before she went full moon-bat. I don’t anymore, so I don’t exactly know what she has said. But I know what her crazed followers say, and they must have gotten those ideas somewhere.

It reminds me of the Alex Jones case.

Alex Jones went after private figures.

Erika is a public figure. And one who's involved in national politics. The standards for her to win a defamation case are higher.

If you are a prominent public figure, it is nearly impossible to sue anyone for any sort of statement.

Yes, I remember what happened to the rodeo clown who wore an Obama mask in the ring to distract the bull and humor the crowd - rodeo clowns had been wearing presidential masks for years. It was major, national news for weeks, even where I am way out West:

"The incident sparked widespread bipartisan condemnation and led to significant consequences:

Missouri State Fair officials banned Gessling for life from performing at the event.

The Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association issued a sincere apology and its president resigned.

Politicians, including Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill and Republican Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder, called the act 'shameful' and 'unacceptable.'

The fair, which is publicly funded, stated the performance was 'inappropriate and disrespectful and did not reflect its standards.'

Double standard indeed... The left, of course, has NO sense of humor, except when it comes to mocking their enemies.

I think she should wait until after the trial and then sue the snot out of Candace.

But the employees of the CK Show and TPUSA are not. That’s a class action suit right there.

TPUSA and the CK show are political organizations. Their employees are paid political activists.

I think the standards are higher for any political activity.

Have you not noticed how caustic political commentary has been these past few decades? Centuries, even.

A law professor once told me that political speech is at the core of the First Amendment, i.e., political speech is given the greatest protection. This is because the Founders believed that democracy required broad freedom in discussing political matters.

Candace's attacks on TPUSA constitute political speech.
