President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are involved in ongoing peace talks with Iran.
The president had originally tapped special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, to lead talks with Tehran. However, Iranian officials refused to negotiate with Witkoff and Kushner, according to the Guardian.
“We’re in negotiations right now. They’re doing it, along with Marco and JD; we have a number of people doing it,” the president told reporters in the Oval Office. “The other side, I can tell you, they’d like to make a deal. And who wouldn’t if you were them?”
“Look, their navy is gone. Their air force is gone. Their communications are gone. That’s the biggest problem,” Trump continued. “As opposed to Iran, we’re roaming free. We can do whatever we want, and as you know, today, we were going to have the privilege of shooting down a very big electric generation plant, one of the biggest in the world, and one shot to the right location, ends the plant and it collapses, and we held off, based on the fact that we’re negotiating.”

Who are the Iranian Officials "involved" with The Gordian?
In Iran they think that Trump is using this as a ploy to get them all out so they will be easier to kill, could be, some of them the IDF cant locate, bring the roaches out into the light easier to stomp on
The only outcome that should happen is IRGC gone. Otherwise, the war was a complete waste and the Iranians become betrayed.

This sounds like a high stakes operation. If Vance is highly successful in bringing the war to an end, he might be the nominee for 2028. If Rubio on the other hand does a great job then he might be the pick.
In the Islamicist’s eyes, if he survives - he’s won.

It’s probably a good thing to diversify the negotiators beyond Jared Kushner and Steve Whitkoff.
Actually doubt there have been any talks. suspect that Trump is using this as a ploy to extract from a very expensive, inconclusive war that failed in its stated goals of regime change and securing the enriched uranium. Also think he is harming perhaps unintentionally the careers of Vance and Rubio. Try to imagine them answering specific questions about these “talks” and what was achieved.
And whose bright idea was it to send 2 Jewish guys to Iran?
No wonder Iran wouldn’t talk to them.
Even if Trump doesn’t achieve his goals I’m all in. You see we owe them a good punch in the nose. It’s been long overdue.
Rubio/JD in ‘28. Vance will be a SCOTUS nominee and Marco will run Cuba-it’s more important. DeSantis becomes POTUS. Marco waits 8-10 years after which he really can’t be denied.

I doubt that JD Vance will run on 2028.
Rubio has more than proven his value and worth, just in the last year alone. I admit, before that, I wasn’t impressed.

If it’s one thing Trump has proven, it’s that he doesn’t lie. Over and over, he has been accused of lying, and he’s been proven NOT to have lied.
