During the Vietnam war in 69 or so the hydrogen cracker in linden nj was destroyed. Rumor was sabotage. Never explained. Important war material. At that time only one other in US was near Houston.

Merlin Capital has tweeted that the IRGC has taken credit for striking the Valero facility using drones launched from the Gulf.

And — coincidentally— the huge refinery in Haifa was struck overnight and appears to be completely destroyed according to Turkish outlet Yeni Safak.

These are extraordinary times - I do wonder about sabotage.

Umm, no. Only minor damage in Haifa

I used to work for an IOC. Refineries have fires all the time. Most are accidents not sabotage. So I would not reach any premature conclusions about Valero.
