President Trump said he is “not a fan” of former National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent following Kent’s resignation and reports that the FBI is investigating him over allegations of leaking classified information.
Trump sharply criticized Kent in response to a question from The Daily Wire’s White House correspondent Mary Margaret Olohan, who is flying with him as part of the press pool, and portrayed him as ungrateful after being brought into the administration.
“Look, I’m not a fan of the guy,” Trump said, adding that he felt bad for Kent after his wife’s death and losing two Congressional races. “I said, ‘Call him up, give him a job in the White House,’ and this is what he does.”
A source familiar with the matter told The Daily Wire that federal authorities are probing whether Kent improperly shared classified material. The investigation comes just days after Kent stepped down from his post in protest of the Trump administration’s military campaign against Iran’s Islamic regime.
“I hear they’re looking at him for leaking. That’s possible,” Trump said.
Trump also brought up Kent’s personal life, noting that after his wife’s death, “he remarried fairly quickly.”
In his resignation letter, Kent argued that Iran “posed no imminent threat to our nation” and claimed the conflict was driven by “pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.”
“Iran’s been a threat for 47 years, and there’s not a country in the world that doesn’t agree with me on that,” Trump said. “I never knew he had a problem.”
Last week, Vice President JD Vance echoed the administration’s stance, emphasizing that officials are expected to support presidential decisions once they are made.
“Whatever your view is, when the President of the United States makes a decision, it’s your job to make that decision as effective and successful as possible,” Vance said. “If you are on the team and you cannot help implement the decisions of his administration … then it’s a good thing for you to resign.”
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard also raised concerns about Kent’s public comments blaming Israel for the war. When asked by Rep. Elise Stefanik whether the remarks were troubling, Gabbard replied, “Yes.”
In a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing last week, CIA Director John Ratcliffe directly contradicted Kent.
“I think Iran has been a constant threat to the United States for an extended period of time and posed an immediate threat,” he said.
Since leaving the administration, Kent has appeared on podcasts hosted by Tucker Carlson and Megyn Kelly, where he has continued to argue that the war with Iran does not serve American interests and has sought to rally opposition among conservative audiences.
Following his departure, people in Trump’s orbit accused him of leaking, with one calling him a “crazed egomaniac.”
“Joe Kent is a crazed egomaniac who was often at the center of national security leaks, while rarely (never?) producing any actual work,” said Taylor Budowich, the former deputy White House chief of staff. “He spent all of his time working to subvert the chain of command and undermine the President of the United States.”
“This isn’t some principled resignation — he just wanted to make a splash before getting canned. What a loser.”

Cringe- there is a faster better way to say every administration has people that aren’t in agreement with policy and resign to make headlines. And if you hired that person because his wife died. Great. It’s a one day story. Slam once then Keep mouth shut.

I don't believe there is any connection between Tyler Kent and Joe Kent other than having the same last name. Despite the 80 year time gap, both Kents traveled in similar circles. The alt-right of 2026 is to a great extent a rebirth of the Old Right of Robert Taft, Charles Lindbergh, Father Coughlin, and Hamilton Fish, from the pre-World War II period.
He re-married quick—says the guy who has been married multiple times and is a known philanderer.
What a cheap shot. Donald trump has no right to talk about martial infidelity.

I think the posters who are so quick to critcize missed the point. Trump met Kent at the dignified return of his wife’s coffin. Kent impressed him as a good man with a terrible grief. All Kent’s social media supported the threat of Iran and he posted that US should take action.
Now new wife and about face. Scuttlebutt reports the wife is liberal. It happens. If you saw a guy so devastated & reached out to give him a job then he was not only involved in a leaking investigation but he went out of his way to bash the administration on the way out you might be a mite ticked.
That sure looks a lot like a toupee.
Trump clearly grew up with no fear anyone would punch him in the face. He’s very free to trash other men’s wives.
It’s a low life and cowardly thing to do.
Of course he is. He cheated on his first wife with Marla Maples. HE says he cheated on her three times. And he says he didn’t pork Stormy Daniels, but he did have her up to his room when Melania was preggo.
That’s pretty much “known philanderer” territory...
