President Donald Trump says the US is considering "winding down our great Military efforts in the Middle East," he wrote on his Truth Social platform on Friday.
"We are getting very close to meeting our objectives as we consider winding down our great Military efforts in the Middle East with respect to the Terrorist Regime of Iran," he said in a post.

I don’t see it exactly as a head fake. I see it more that they are considering all options, some more immediately than others.
If ai were the IRGC, I would run the bunkers now. He saves for the biggest when they least expect it.
All they have to do is land someplace the IRGC is not.
Then wait for them to move. Moving forces are nothing but targets when you own the sky.
Start small. Limited objectives. Feint a move at Bandar Abbas.
And stay off the 1.2 billion gallons of crude on Kharg.

It is a head fake. With one breath he says the war is over. We won. In the next breath he says he “may” commit 2,000 troops to Iran. Then hours later - something else again.
Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
I don’t care if you are the most ardent Trump supporter who worships at his feet - or the most virulent TDSer - he will say or do something that makes you mad and upset. Or something ecstatic and wonderful.
Unless of course you learn to ignore what he says and wait for results.

I think the US occupies Kharg island in the very near future and protects the straight for safe shipping.
At that point, the war will be over...whether Iran agrees or not.
Now, Iran will not appreciate Kharg island being occupied as that is there main income source. It will very much be like the US having their hands around Iran’s balls. The US can squeeze at any time. The US will then say, we’ll be happy to return Kharg Island to you but only when you give us your nuclear material and give up your nuclear ambitions in a verifiable manner.
That will be our leverage going forward.
And so it has been said.
What were the objectives? The nukes was one. but that was handled a week or two ago. Were strategic military forces (marines) housed 2 weeks away from the battle space? Did the Iranians give up the strait? Are the marines going to take Karga? What impact will that actually have on the strait? which is a 400 mile gauntlet to the southeast.

The Iranians fired two missiles at Diego Garcia. One fell short but the other was knocked down by a US ship. Now, these missiles are estimated to have a range of 4000 km. Much further than we thought. If they could have launched from one of their ships, they could have shortly strapped on a nuke and hit the mainland USA. let’s tell the D*psh*t media and Democrats that there was a clear and present, and imminent danger, and threat. The death of hundreds of thousands would have been on their heads, but at least they would still be in control.
I don’t see how occupying Kharg can be done safely. Too close for rocket attacks that could come at any time. It would be like Beruit in ‘83.
The big picture is this: Trump is putting it on the Europeans to do their part in NATO as well as in trade. Same with the people of Venezuela, Cuba, and Iran. Use the military to set the table and make the others do their part. Unfortunately there are too many you-go-first attitudes out there as they’ll have to pay the price because Atlas has shrugged.

After talk of “unconditional surrender” as the criterion for ending hostilities and declaring victory, this damn well better be a “head fake”!
