According to a senior Iranian official, Khamenei rejected proposals for reducing tensions or for a ceasefire with Washington, that were conveyed to Tehran by two intermediary countries.
The new ayatollah's appetite for revenge against the US and Israel was 'very tough and serious' in his first foreign policy session, an official told Reuters, without clarifying whether the leader attended the session in person.
The senior official, who asked not to be named, said the supreme leader had said it was not 'the right time for peace until the United States and Israel are brought to their knees, accept defeat, and pay compensation'.

I’m going against the grain here - but I will say - it is in the Trump’s and the USA interest (or rather, we certainly don’t mind) if the Gulf REMAINS CLOSED indefinitely.
Trump is implementing a masterplan.
The US does not use, or need, oil from the Persian Gulf. The USA is an energy exporter now, not importer. Higher prices aren’t good, but it affects us far less than it affects others
Trump has already re-aligned Venezuela, and now Cuba.
So Trump now has his foot on the main energy pipeline feeding China and the EU. The two main pillars of neo-marxist globalism.
Trump has then offered them a PR lifeline, knowing they probably would refuse: “why don’t you help us patrol the Straights of Hormuz? It’s your oil, after all. No? You won’t help? OK - then live with the results.”
It will further shake out the agents of Davos and London here within the US deep-state
Who also benefits? Russia - with whom Trump seeks a major realignment also.
So leave the Gulf closed and see who fractures first.
Yeah, the Saudis are already shifting to shipping off the other side of their peninsula and we’re going to start drilling off California. Venezuelan oil, under our control, is off the black market.
