Vance declines to detail his advice to Trump on Iran war: It’s ‘classified’

Vice President Vance on Friday did not disclose what he advised President Trump on the U.S. strikes on Iran, telling reporters it was “classified.”

“I hate to disappoint you, but I’m not going to show up here and in front of God and everybody else [and] tell you exactly what I said in that classified room,” Vance told reporters in Rocky Mount, N.C., referring to the White House Situation Room.

JD Vance has been uncharacteristically silent on this operation. It’s mostly Marco Rubio talking One cannot help but wonder if he was against it ( my feeling is he’s not all on board ).

Remember the conversation that was disclosed in SignalGate?

Vance was the one who expressed skepticism and reluctance to attack the Houthis then. He reasoned that since most of the ships being attacked by the Houthis were from Europe, they should be the once doing the military operations, not the USA.

That’s all you need to know.

A Good man Vance. That’s a Right-Hand Man, and nobody else’s.

Trump / Vance +1

Haven’t heard much from Hegseth. You would think he’ll be against it too. Maybe they have an exit plan in place and they’ll leave in 30 days or something like that.

When Trump discussed his decision to attack Iran in that press conference, he named Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner and “Petey” being all in favor, then threw in Rubio, IIRC. I do remember Vance’s name being conspicuously absent from that list. So was General Caine’s.

It could be he knows he’ll be misquoted, taken out of context, or have the press out right lie about anything he says. It is better to say nothing at this point.

When was the last time Europe managed a successful long distance military attack without the US?

Haven’t heard much from Hegseth

He's been giving daily, extensive press briefings. You can find them on Youtube.

I knew this whole situation with Iran was a farce as soon as I saw the reports of Jared Kushner showing up at those meetings. That guy has absolutely nothing to bring to the table except his family relationship with Donald Trump.

Haven’t heard much from Hegseth.

Odd that you haven't because both Hegseth and General Caine have been giving almost daily press briefings.

I'm pretty sure that anyone and everyone in that room with a conscience and a three-digit IQ told DJT to his face that an attack on Iran would be a cataclysmically stupid thing to do.

Sure, MAGA would line up behind him. But all of the moderates he got from the Democrat side who held their noses and voted for him when he brought RFK Jr on board were going to abandon him. In a heartbeat. (I know, I know, MAGA doesn't care. But MAGA also thinks they delivered him all of the swing states.)

Obviously, this would damage prospects for the 2026 races and the 2028 races as well, because any member of his administration who was perceived as being a lunatic for remaining with him after he launched the war was going to face an incredibly difficult task in being elected by a majority of the American people.

“JD Vance has been uncharacteristically silent on this operation.”

He’s in the Tucker camp, so don’t expect much good from him.

A few days ago, Trump even said that Tucker had a problem with a war with Iran. (Even though Iran started the war ~50 years ago.)

Good idea. Pretty much the only smart move for a politician. Hoped for a while he might be more.

MAGA would line up behind him.

Not really, we are supposed to be America First.

Hegseth at this morning’s briefing:

“The only thing prohibiting transit [Hormuz] right now is Iran shooting at shipping.”

“It is open for transit should Iran not do that”

Thanks, Captain Obvious!

Keep telling yourself that.

In Iran, they can count back further than we can here in America. They point to 1953, which is the year the CIA organized the coup that overthrew their elected prime minister.

That's what I thought as well.

The America Firsters and the America Onlys (that would be me) don't seem to be welcome in MAGA. (They sure didn't listen to us.)
