Dems vote to keep DHS closed despite airport chaos, Iranian sleeper cell threat

Senate Republicans are accusing Senate Democrats of trying to rip apart the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) piece by piece after again blocking a bid to reopen the agency.

Little has changed in the stalemate over the last 27 days of the partial shutdown, and communication breakdowns are dominating what could be opportunities for negotiations.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and his caucus are still demanding stringent reforms to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, while Senate Republicans are dug in against their top demands.

This is something we could push through on reconciliation...that doesn't require any change in rules.

Just pass this funding in a bill along with just passing the same budget for the current fiscal year for the next fiscal year together on reconciliation and stop playing with these people and waiting until the last minute for an imminent shutdown.

This isn't funny anymore...our conservative mediasphere should be demanding this strategy be part of the conversation...our side is so inept and disorganized on messaging across the board - it isn't just the politicians.

Wanna fix it? Congress and senate must fly scheduled air carriers. No private jets supplied by corporate interests.

Bingo.

If the Republican party was serious, they would end the filibuster. But if they did that, then they would also have to pass the save act, and other legislation we want. They can’t risk that!

How about an EO ordering the Treasury Department to hold all salaries to Congress, elected and employed, until such time is DHS fully funded???

Schumer and the rest of his Demonicrats should be indicted, tried, convicted, and sentenced to a short drop and quick stop for giving aid and comfort to the domestic and foreign enemies of the United States.

The wait times at airports are going to stretch into the multiple hours and these bastards will not care. The Democrats should change their name to the Quisling Party.

Oh the bitter irony that the freedom-damaging agency created to stop terrorist threats is now, 25 years later, rendered nearly powerless by terrorist-sympathetic Democrats at a time when terrorism is on the rise.

We may need one of those safety-style “__ __ Days since Last Victim Murdered” boards up before long.

Thune is a retard. Ineffective, evil. Thinks he’s playing chess when he’s just playing with himself. Good job electing that loser as your leader.

As Seneca the Younger said, “Errare humanum est, perseverare autem diabolicum.” Imagine that, 2000 years before us Seneca described the modern Democrat party perfectly ... not long after he said that, Nero compelled him to commit suicide. Nero even knew and practiced the “modus operandi” of our modern Democrats.

We don’t need a unionized TSA. Let the airports hire private security.

“....The Democrats should change their name to the Quisling Party...”

The Democrats should change their name to the Communist Party, USA.
Fixed it...because that’s what they really are.
They are not your friend, they are not the friend of America, they’re not even Americans. Sure, they may have been born here, but they are NOT Americans. What they are is ruthless, vile, communists that are hellbent on the destruction of the USA and her People by any means possible. They’re bought and paid for by anti-American entices, both foreign and domestic.
The sooner the Republic realizes this, the sooner it can be addressed.

This is something we could push through on reconciliation...that doesn't require any change in rules.

But we get only one spending reconciliation bill each year, and the Democrats want the Republicans to waste it on this singular homeland bill instead of another Big Beautiful Bill like last year.

Airlines can fund their security needs themselves and do a better job without TSA. They can hire Israeli companies who do a great job of profiling travelers.

Legislators have exempted themselves from TSA lines. They have a special TSA Consierge that bypasses the screening for them, should they be unfortunate enough to not have gotten private jet transportation. Private jets bypass all TSA scrutiny right down to baggage checks, weapons, drugs, and cash.
