~ Remembering Our Troops!! ~

Congratulations!

U.S. Airmen, Guardians and Soldiers begin the Norwegian Foot March at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. Part of the equipment necessary to safely complete the march is a flashlight or headlamp to illuminate the path in the early morning hours. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Stefan Alvarez)

Canteen Mission Statement

Showing support and boosting the morale of
our military and our allies' military
and family members of the above.
Honoring those who have served before.

Pucks Out!

You Got This!

Junior ROTC Cadet Bryan Robertson, from the Scott Regional Technology Center Junior ROTC program, in Monett, Missouri, performs a pull up at the 31st Engineer Battalion quad, during the physical team tasks portion of the Raider Challenge event here Saturday. In all, more than 300 Junior ROTC cadets from 16 schools across Missouri, and as far away as Mississippi and Wisconsin, competed in this year’s event.

Never Forgotten!

U.S. service members with the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) honor the fallen during a disinterment ceremony at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (NMCP) in Honolulu, Hawaii. Given the large number of remains, DPAA has begun phase five of disinterring 652 sets of unknown remains associated with the Korean War that had been buried at the NMCP. The plan is to disinter the remains in seven phases over the next five to seven years. As the remains are identified in this method, it will reduce the potential candidates for subsequent phases, and thereby provide quicker identifications. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Edward Randolph)

Please remember that The Canteen is here to support
and entertain our troops and veterans and their families,
and is family friendly.

Howdy, luvie.

Got plenty of tissues on hand? Nasty air you’ve had to deal with today. Ugh!

Hey there, radu!

It has been one nasty day all day and I HAVE been going through the kleenex! *sniff*

Hope it was prettier there!

Pretty? Cloudy with a little sunshine, then rain.
No severe storms here but one passed just north and I was glad to miss it. Black, ugly clouds.
Now Round Two and we’ll have showers on and off through the rest of the night. Then the temp drops for a day.

Your pic of the dust cloud made me cough. I don’t know that I could live where it kicks up like that.

I wish we didn’t live where this kind of dust blows, but it seems we’re stuck. Our house is paid for and no WAY could we make the kind of house payments that others have to pay these days.

Your cloudy IS my pretty. Makes flowers bloom! 🌺🌸🌼🌻🦋

Too bad y’all got stuck there. Dusty, hot, and brown.

At least we got some rain with the clouds today. Cloudy days with no rain are depressing.

I guess one of the good things is the lower humidity. It’s not as uncomfortable as high humidity is. Especially bad for my natural curly/wavy hair. It makes a mess out of it. LOL!

Tell me about clouds and no rain. We get a lot of that. Today? Who could tell...the dirt covered them up. Blech!

I couldn’t handle your low humidity. When we’re really dry, it’s still more humid than it is there. It wears me out. My skin hurts and my nasal passages crack a little. The past few days have felt good. It’s been a long, dry winter.

That dirt was pretty thick in your pic. UGH! Don’t-step-out-the-door weather.

Unfortunately, I had to step outside, but by then the dust was settling out of the air. I really hope we don’t have any more days like it. The kitties weren’t happy either.

The higher humidity isn’t that bad when it’s not hot, too. When it’s both, it’s hard to even move. It’s very tiring to be out in it to me. But then, I’m not used to it.

At least it wasn’t still flying thickly in the air when you had to step out. The poor kitties were stuck with that mess.

You never really get used to high humidity with high temps. It’ll exhaust you. That’s why I stay in. If I need to shop for groceries, it’s done after sunset.

It got up to 80 while I was out with Shags this afternoon but it was windy enough to feel good. With no wind, it would have been a bit uncomfortable.

I’m going back in Ryan Hall’s stream to catch his coverage of storms that came across TN today. The one that past just north of here had severe warning boxes on it all across the state. It was a nasty one and I’m glad it missed here. Tullahoma got a glancing blow and the wall cloud looked ominous as it moved in. I couldn’t see it from here but watched it on the downtown cam.

A very pleasant good Thursday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country and thanks Luvie for filling in for Kathy this morning.

Yesterday at Wichita Ridge:

Before the windy trip to the lake, we had Applebee's supper.

How's everyone doing this morning?

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))

Gizmo seemed to have fun yesterday, though a little leery of the water. The wind had it white-capping mighty good.
A good day overall - - beautiful blue sky, Applebee’s in the tummy. :-)
